Long gone

Give me a break Grush has 5 points in like 3 ahl seasons... he is nowhere close to where Samberg was
Also worth noting Grushnikov had 12 points in 56 games in the OHL as an 18-year-old and 17 in 65 at 19, which I’m told such low stats even for a defensive defencemen in junior is a good indicator of a player that won’t amount to much in the NHL.

If I recall correctly it's pretty rare for a defenseman that doesn't put up 0.6PPG+ in the CHL to make it. Even notable defensive stalwarts in the NHL like Slavin, Vlasic, Pelech, and Willie Mitchell put up good offensive numbers in the CHL/NCAA. Even Stanley broke that threshold.

It is likely the Dallas pick was the best offer they had. Grushnikov doesn't seem like much, ofcourse their GM is gonna hype him, GMs always do that post-trade. As a prospect he is probably above Bauer and below Kuzmin if we want a Jets benchmark and closer to Bauer than Kuzmin.

If anyone had offered the Flames a 2nd and a guaranteed 3rd or even a guaranteed 4th, he'd be with that team. Surprising that no team ponied up considering how much teams spent like drunk sailors on past deadlines on D.

He has really hit a wall over the last month plus. Over his last 18 games, 0G 1A and nothing in 15 games. Looks physically and mentally exhausted IMO. Hopefully just a wake up call being a healthy scratched and he bounces back.
It's weird that the long break didn't seem to help him at all.

I still think we need a second line right wing. I was wondering if we should see if Buffalo would consider trading Alex Tuch. He has two more years left on his contract. Might consider trading Perfetti + for him. I have concerns about Perfetti's size and speed. I still think he is a good player but Tuch would be better for our playoffs and we have some good young players coming up.

if we are trading Pefetti I'd rather get Mittelstadt atleast we solve our 2C problem for the future

Why is Okposo not on any trade bait lists? Dude is on an expiring deal and would fill that bottom 6 RW for us perfectly.

This team isn't trading Perfetti. It is a team that leans into player development and people should not read into Perfetti being a healthy scratch. This is just a part of his process of acclimating to NHL in a full season and he is going to learn and grow from it. But he is staying put.

Tanev probably gave a short list of teams he wanted to play for and Conroy made the trade out of respect

Or how about he finishes his? He's had plenty over the past two months himself

Does that only apply to him? I wonder if there's any Jets players on a longer goal drought 🤔.

If Nino or Monahan or Namestnikov score off one of those passes to a wide open slot there'd be a different narrative about him. He has the worst on ice shooting % on the team for regulars since the Columbus game. 5th on the team in xGF% for regular F's.

There's plenty of guys who haven't scored a lot the last month+ but still played fine. Perfetti is just one.

It's not like this is Kupari who hasn't shown any ability to string together offense yet.

Saving that cap space is about the same revenue as what... 200-300 season tickets?

Using that capspace and getting some more home playoff games >> though.

It has been incredible the amount of bad puck luck Cole has had the last 6 weeks. He has created more than enough for others to reasonable expect to have 8 or 9 assists. He also has no luck picking up any secondary assists. It is reasonable to expect to get a few assists where you pass to someone and then they make a play or shoot and their is a rebound for a goal. He only has 3 second assists all year which is a statistical anomaly . On the topic of him scoring for himself he has had a number of chances he didn’t convert and that is on him but when things are going bad that is what happens.

He easily should have 10-12 points more than last 18 games without doing one thing differently. That is the definition of a bad slump.

If that happens the narrative is how great he is and not let’s trade him.

I am sure this will turn soon and it will be yesterday’s news and the narrative changes to what a bright future he has with the team.

When his on ice shooting % for his line regresses to the mean in the future he is due for a helluva hotstreak. Just get one and a bunch will follow.

You're the one who decided to single out its his teammates fault that he has no pts. It can work both ways too.

Were you claiming his teammates were the reason he scored all those pts in November?

I'm sure He has a bad on ice sh% he has 0 goals in his past 18 gp. having 0 goals on 28 shots will affect that.

Hardly anyone is advising for trading him.

Every player is subject to the whims of teammate performance.

I remember when it happened to Schiefele, he couldn't get an assist to save his life fit the first half of a season, but he scored lots of goals.

Perfetti will be fine, but the one thing he can control is continuing to set up his teammates and burying his chances.

Not his own personal shooting percentage, but the shooting percentage of all players on the ice while he is on.

Correct, he has to play hard and keep doing what he was doing and things will change for him and the team.

He's a playmaker first and foremost. I'm not blaming his teammates, I said the narrative would be different if a few of those high danger chances went in. They didn't, so now he should be sent to the AHL or be traded because he can't be a top 6 player in the playoffs for us. There are some players on the team who have had a few go in, so all is good.
