Does that only apply to him? I wonder if there's any Jets players on a longer goal drought 🤔.

If Nino or Monahan or Namestnikov score off one of those passes to a wide open slot there'd be a different narrative about him. He has the worst on ice shooting % on the team for regulars since the Columbus game. 5th on the team in xGF% for regular F's.

There's plenty of guys who haven't scored a lot the last month+ but still played fine. Perfetti is just one.

It's not like this is Kupari who hasn't shown any ability to string together offense yet.

Using that capspace and getting some more home playoff games >> though.
100% agree... but I'd trade the future for Buchnevich or Guentzel

He's a playmaker first and foremost. I'm not blaming his teammates, I said the narrative would be different if a few of those high danger chances went in. They didn't, so now he should be sent to the AHL or be traded because he can't be a top 6 player in the playoffs for us. There are some players on the team who have had a few go in, so all is good.
sorry i wasn't sure if he was included in "guys should finish his chances" or it was outside of him. anyway he's been a far-cry from what he was through november.

i think it's dumb to say he should be traded, or gone to the AHL when the alternatives are world beaters like kupari or gustafsson. if there's a legit top-6er though that comes in then it becomes more of a discussion.

Bones needs an energy fourth line - Barron, AJF, Kupari, Gus, Toni all have more speed than both Names and Perfetti... not as talented but they have a strong forecheck - thats all the Jets want

not sure what the solution is unless Bones moves away from his 3rd line shutdown and 4th energy forecheck

Optimal lineup for Bones is prob
CSE
Names-Monahan-Vilardi
Nino-Lowry-Apples
AJF-Toni-Barron
Perfetti/Iafallo

I still think we need a second line right wing. I was wondering if we should see if Buffalo would consider trading Alex Tuch. He has two more years left on his contract. Might consider trading Perfetti + for him. I have concerns about Perfetti's size and speed. I still think he is a good player but Tuch would be better for our playoffs and we have some good young players coming up.

They love Tuch. I'd love to get Tuch. But the price would make my eyes water.

While I'm a fan of Perfetti, our forward group has too many with below average speed. Perfetti, Monahan, Vilardi, Iafallo, Gus. 5/12 clearly slower than average. I think spped through the neutral zone is a reason we have struggled versus Dallas.

I don't mind a slow the game down playmaker on the team, but we have maybe too many.

You do realize that neither Buchnevich nor Guentzel, nor even Sid for that matter, would guarantee a Cup, right?

We can afford to trade SOME future assets right now because; a) best shot at a deep run since '18 and b) cupboards are relatively well stocked. We certainly can't afford to trade everything for this one shot.

My question is that if you're not ready to go for it this year... when are you pulling the trigger?

Helle is running with a .924 - the best play of his career... Scheif has shown he's willing to go beast mode at time... Jomo is on pace for another career season... massive bottom six depth... Dillon and Samberg with career years

team weakness is 2nd line scoring - assuming Bones actually plays Ehlers on top line and defensive depth

I think Heinola or Capo can solve our D depth issues - but the teams loves Stan... I'd still offer a 4th or 3rd to get Kova back - he's the player we wanted Stanley to be...

Too much pressure to plug McGro into top six imo and Perfetti is not the answer on second line just yet... so that leaves winger

Montreal's 2nd, Gus/Kupari, Julien/Kuzmin and conditional pick - that's not selling the future but its pretty close to the Lindholm package... or you package Iafallo as part of that

For this reason I could see the Jets inquiring about Buchnevic

Multi options to consider for trades:

- Top 6 forward
- Top 4 RHD upgrade over Pionk
- Bottom 6 forward
- Bottom Pairing RHD Upgrade

No chance the Jets do all those moves for many reasons, but 1-2 could be possible and helpful. Obviously bottom 6 forward and bottom pairing RHD upgrades are much more affordable then top 6 forward or a top 4 RHD. Fingers crossed we do 1-2 more moves.

I didn't say we shouldn't go for it. I said there is no way you can boost your roster to guarantee a cup. The best you might get would be something in the 20-25% range. And if you don't cash in, you've got nothing going forward.

That package is not what you suggested earlier. It is not selling the future.

You were also answering a claim I didn't make though...

Chevy did well by acquiring Monahan early. The market for Centers isn’t great now - not that many good options. I think what we’re likely looking at now is a top-6 winger and an add on Defence. What’s nice about that is there appears to be a fair bit of options for wingers and decent options for D as well. That could mean lower prices or also that just because a team grabs a winger that we were eying doesn’t mean we’re out of luck to add one. As for Centers… not so much, but we got ahead of it, which is good.

if we are trading Pefetti I'd rather get Mittelstadt atleast we solve our 2C problem for the future
lol, why not demand McDavid? Buffalo would be waiting for you to tell them what the main piece of the trade is.

murat said he heard were only going to be doing small moves
seravalli said that we kept tabs on tanev and other players gives us an indication that were still in the mix to add
