so far he's attempted 13 shots, and managed to get 2 of them on net. that's pretty abysmal, and it's no wonder his line isn't having much success at generating goals

I'd try and package Mitch and Morgan + for Barkov and weegar. We have brodie, sandin and Lehtonen to replace morgans offense and we get a large two way physical 1c to add to our team along with a defensive minded Lhd to pair with brodie.

Once you have been roughed up like he was last yr....its in the back of your mind..to play fearless again he would need his bud back from NY. That will make you look over your shoulder a LOT less.

He'll figure it out. He needs to adjust still, his passing plays got him into the shooting spots. He just always chooses pass instead of shoot in those moments

I noticed last night he took a couple of shots in more prime passing positions. Might be overthinking it right now.

Either way at his price tag we're expecting a game breaker that can carry the offense. Which has not been the case through the first two games.

Marner is the biggest floater out of our top 5. He does a good job backchecking, but you can get a 2 mil player to do that.

Its just two games in, he has pleanty of time to get going but its important that he lives up to the contract othwrwise he will have a hard time in Toronto. I do encourage patience tho cause we talking about a young person here.

Problem is other teams know he can't shoot, so they play the pass... limiting his ability to make passes. A guy who can shoot and pass is much harder to defend than someone who can only do one.

There really isnt anything to say except the kid is freaky good and he will have ups and downs. The same people who come hard at him just solidify their own stupidity. There should be a hall of shame thread at the end of the year highlighting the biggest slams on all players of this team compared to their performance.
