I love this team, what s ride it's been! Tampa is gonna be tough but I believe they have a shot to take them down if they have more games like tonight.

He got a lot of heat for protecting Pelech way back when too, there was a lot of hate for that move at the time. Pelech always had the signs of being great, just was bad with his back to the net, and that improved quickly under Trotz

Most of this team is Snow picks/trades. He set the stage, LL finished the product. He (Snow) also made a few questionable decisions. When Lou took over, he was asked to compare this core to the TML; he said this team is ready, with a veteran skill than TML had, in his subtle way.

While we're reminiscing, remember when Garth Snow was so petty that he denied Chris Botta, a former team employee, any further media access because Botta had the nerve to call out his wretched results during what was probably another 30 game losing streak? Glad to see everyone able to take part in this.

Remember when the Isles won 19 games in an 82 game season. The 'Future Four,' Bryan Berard, Eric Fichauch, Bryan McCabe, who's got the next one?

Bossy was the best pure goal scorer ever. I was shocked that I didn't remember he only played 10 seasons and scored 573. He IS the all-time leading GPG scorer, more than 99,66,9 all of them. Look at these freakin stats!!!!!

He only scored 38 his last year because of a sever back injury sustained from years of constant cross checking to his lower back. Also amazing he was a smoker, and in his words he could have scored more but once he'd hit 50 he kind of was relived and didn't press as much.

The isles have shown the value of being a team. Bruins are essentally a one line team and just got worn down during the course. Wonderful stuff!
Certainly the war of attrition took its toll on the Boston D, hopefully the Isles get a few days to nurse their wounds.
Yes Barry has rolled 4 lines all year and constantly had the 4th line out in critical situation the entire season.
This is building confidence throughout the team going into the playoffs, teammates knowing that no matter what the situation is who's ever on the ice is more than capable!

All of the tweets and comments from before this series even started, or after game 1, sure do look funny now. For a boring team that plays a trap the boys sure do score a lot. Like, I don't know, 43 goals in 12 playoff games? :sarcasm:

do you sneak “kristopher letang” into non related conversations like Pierre? I hope so.
No, but I will start :naughty: (might lead to a divorce, but too funny to not do that)

I love Mike Bossy, but tough never really registered as an adjective for him, many would say that the toughest Islander was Brian Trottier, he actually never fought much because goons did not want to lose to a skilled player. Bossy was mentally tough I think if that is what you are saying.
Bossy took a stand publicly and said he would not fight refusing to drop the gloves no matter what. He was particularly targeted by tiger Williams and others.
Yes their was Nystrom and Gilles and other to stand up for him but that was often after the abuse, I would say Bossy was a very intelligent player who knew his value was on the ice and lets rember this was the old NHL not todays NHL players were savaged back then so yes Bossy was tough.

"The important thing is I live near Aryne's parents."
To this day I still don’t know how to say her name. Is it pronounced like Erin?

I always see it and think Arnie

Wang was steered into owning the Isles as a reputation repair and legacy play due to his fuzzy accounting method that made him a ton of money, but also tarnished his business reputation.
That's correct Computer Associates stock fraud sold his partner Sanjay Kumar down the river (Jail Time)

Scott Mayfield leads the NHL in +/-.

He has been on ice for more goals for than any player in the playoffs.

There are 11 Islanders who have more goals against.

On a long list of outstanding Islanders these playoffs, Mayfield is near the top.
