Positives. Chytil, Kakko moving all night. Kakko looking quicker. Still not the fastest player obviously but he had a motor tonight. PDG really did some yeoman's work on that line too.
K'Andre Miller... You would have to be blind not to see how good he's been. I would say our best player over 4 games.

I would say Fox has been our best player but Miller has been very good as well.

Like I said before, he’s never had a good partner and may feel like he has to cover for them (meaning Staal and Johnson). And since when do you follow advanced stats? Oh yea, on the off-chance that they go against DeAngelo. He didn’t have a good game. He’s off. Just wait though.
Not exactly advanced when you are on the ice for 1 goal for and 7 against. Especially with sheltered minutes.

Poor guy never has a good partner....and somehow managed to have the amazing, incredible year last year where everybody on the bench was sooooooo happy when he scored.

Chytil's shot a few inches to the left and he wins it in overtime. What a difference that would have been.
Hope that line stays together and brings it again sunday eve.

Defenseman was giving him the shot. So he does a spin-o-rama pass that’s 10 feet off the mark and sets up a breakaway against the Rangers. Plus he’s wearing a fishbowl.
LOL. You're right, I think it was Poulin possibly but he was 100% committed to defending the pass. Literally the only play there with a greater than 1% chance of succeeding was a shot.

Unfortunately we're the kings of over-passing. I mean we can string together some highlight reel shit as well as any other team in the league, but goddamn do we pass up some high-quality looks (and then settle for really low-percentage looks).

Seems like Smith is still working off the punishment for those 21 pounds in his wedding off season. I don't see a reason why you wouldn't give a great all around guy and teammate more minutes when he's still young and in shape and plays D well enough. It's like management and coaching staff never gave him a chance going into this season and brought in JMFJ on the notion that Smith isn't fit for 6D minutes or something.
I for sure thought that Johnson was coming out instead of Smith. What the f*** was Quinn thinking? Johnson has to be blackmailing him, right?

Another glaring issue is Jack Johnson, he is at (-4) now and our bottom line is a disaster at the moment.. I remember when we were in the stanley cup final with Nasher & a decent 4th line!
Well it is early, but a prediction nonetheless we wont reach playoffs until we fix this. :)

I mean, one of these days he's gonna kill a teammate with one of his passes. I stand by that.

He still does other things very well and I could see him scoring 30-something goals.
That is fair. But he is getting better with time. Don't give up on him yet.

How did Igor look ?
He was fine in actual play. Can't pin any goal on him--so perfect deflection in the slot, Lindgren tried to cover a puck but literally threw it into the net, and then a wide shot that caromed off the boards and came right back in front to the far post for a slam dunk. Nothing he could do on any of them, really.

That's what I don't understand. Smith is a hard working, grinding D-man who plays a safe game. A coach's dream. He's also offensively challenged like Quinn likes. I just don't get it. It's not like it's Johnson vs. some flashy high risk offensive defenseman. He's the prototypical coach's pet type D-man.

Honestly someone better tell Quinn’s wife about the love triangle he is involved in with Ryan Strome and JMFJ

They do need to get smith back into the lineup instead of Johnson, but if im making the lines its
Smith Trouba
Miller Fox
Lindgren Deangelo

I don’t think this is a game to get on Quinn. Yeah the team blew a 2 goal lead but it happens to young inconsistent teams. Quinn played the hot hands broke up the lines in the third, it worked. They didn’t score but they clicked. And for people complaining about Strome getting ice time in the OT, you need a center out there. Mika, Strome, Chytil. You can’t have 2 forwards who aren’t centers out there at the same time.
