I liked PDG's spin-o-rama on the 2-on-1. That was one of the most useless moves I've ever seen.
He had an amazing game I hope he's not remembered for that dumb play. He should not have been out there in OT with the talent we have but I guess Quinn wanted to give him a chance based on his performance.

I'll focus on the positives.

We're 1-2-1.

Game 1: They weren't ready
Game 2: 5-0 win
Game 3: Not great but 50 shots and an average goaltending performance gets us a win.
Game 4: Some serious shit luck

Meanwhile some young guys are playing really well. Panarin, Mika, and Kreider are too good players to continue playing so poorly. And Panarin still has 5 points or so and probably leads the team in scoring.

Miller, Chytil, and Kakko made me very excited.

Comical. The stats sited both ADA AND JJ....yet you neglected to mention one of the two. Of course JJ is a black hole....but ADA shares the blame. Or are we going with the silly “JJ brings him down” thingy....
Like I said before, he’s never had a good partner and may feel like he has to cover for them (meaning Staal and Johnson). And since when do you follow advanced stats? Oh yea, on the off-chance that they go against DeAngelo. He didn’t have a good game. He’s off. Just wait though.

Defenseman was giving him the shot. So he does a spin-o-rama pass that’s 10 feet off the mark and sets up a breakaway against the Rangers. Plus he’s wearing a fishbowl.

The insistence on playing Johnson will be hard for the rest of the team to overcome, and no that is not an exaggeration. He is that much of a detriment everytime he is on the ice.
It’s pretty f***ing bad. At least they’re giving him significantly less ice-time than Pittsburgh was. He was playing 20 minutes a night with them.

Got 13 minutes the other night, 14 tonight. Only guys with less ice time than him tonight were Howden, Lemieux, Rooney.

There's a reason Strome gets run out of town any year he's not playing for a contract.

He's also a whiner and used to call his dad after games to complain about how coaches used him.
Lmao for some reason that doesn’t surprise me. All the years of hockey I played there were always guys like this and he really seems like exactly this type.

For sure, he had a nice game and I like him in general. Good depth player. I just thought that move was hilarious--like we f*** up odd-man rushes in OT like it's no one's business anyway, but even with that being the case I was still surprised at how completely ineffective that move was.

Come on man, since you said he can'T take a pass, doente see the ice, can't take a pass without it looking it was a granade. You know, that kind of a thing lol
I mean, one of these days he's gonna kill a teammate with one of his passes. I stand by that.

He still does other things very well and I could see him scoring 30-something goals.

Seems like Smith is still working off the punishment for those 21 pounds in his wedding off season. I don't see a reason why you wouldn't give a great all around guy and teammate more minutes when he's still young and in shape and plays D well enough. It's like management and coaching staff never gave him a chance going into this season and brought in JMFJ on the notion that Smith isn't fit for 6D minutes or something.

I mean, all those things were true about him. But it’s not like he can’t improve, and he did tonight.

I don't think some realize just how bad Johnson is, I mean Marc Staal is a star compared to him. Just look at what he did last season to Crosby and Zucker when they were on the ice with him.
