I think the hope is that Jesus, with the summer off, will actually have time to get fully healthy. He hasn't had that chance.

I disagree with the notion that Havertz had a really poor first half. Sure, his scoring stats weren't like they were in the second half, but he was being played as an 8 and had really strong defensive stats and was a little snakebitten. Given the strikers available this summer - which is really Osimhen for a shitload of money, Gyokeres for a shitload of money, and Zirkzee, I understand not pulling trigger on a striker. None of those names move the needle for me at their price points. I think Jesus/Havertz/Trossard is enough cover for the #9 and I would prefer a winger that can provide cover across the positions. I think it's a bit misleading to think we need to score more than 91 goals - it's the 8th most in the last decade and second most of any non-City team, including more than Liverpool scored when they won the league. However, I do think Martinelli will be somewhat better in front of goal - maybe not 22/23 good, but better - and I think we score more goals from having a Saka who doesn't play all the time.
I want to agree here, but it is too much whataboutism for me. Gabriel has never shown any sort of scoring ability in Man City and now he's more battered. Especially when it comes to consistently scoring, he never had this ability. He's not scoring more than 13-15+ nowadays, I just can't see it happening. There is also no guarantee that Kai will replicate these results either, a lot of hope by many of us Gooners that he can continue.

We need more concrete options IMHO and those three options are legit options. I do understand not wanting to spend loads on any of them, but I am not sure who's going to be available next summer window that will be dramatically better than Zirkzee or Osimhen. Sesko? He just signed, I think he does leave, but probably in two years.

Convince me @JPBolts that we’ve signed our best 9 since Costa
Well then. He averages a goal every 74 minutes. When he comes into a game, he changes it (or better or worse). Had 5 PL goals this year to go with 5 yellow cards.

He has a ton of potential for sure, but getting him to reach it is the challenge.

There’s no whataboutism at all? Maybe avoid using words you don’t know the meaning of. Zirkzee scored as many league goals this year as Jesus did last year and doesn’t create at all. You talk about Zirkzee as though he’s a sure thing when he’s scored 13 league goals across two Serie A seasons. Even with Jesus’s rough year this season, he’s outscored Zirkzee.

Speaking of Soule

Would be interesting if this frees up Kudus and/or Bowen.

Honestly would be happy to sign Soule but have some questions about if he has physical tools for PL. Great talent though

If Kudus goes you’re paying more than his release clause that doesn’t go into effect until next summer. You’re talking nine figures.

I know Liverpool fans have their sights firmly fixed, but it’s not happening.

Kudus (this summer) not for me. Not at the top for me anyway. I’d (kind of) rather have Soule at the prices.

I’m kind of curious about what’s going on at Newcastle though. Supposedly they might want to sell Minteh for PSR and that’s something I would be all over. Then maybe like Bakayoko if I’m looking at RW. Then that’s when I’d get to Kudus/Soule.

If I can sign one winger though this summer it’s probably Nico Williams, but not exactly going out on a limb there. I’m really interested in Newcastle though. If I was them I’d keep Minteh and sell Anthony Gordon, but seems like they’d rather do the opposite (especially if they are getting big dough for Bruno). Minteh is just really f’n good. If they sold Gordon that’s obviously one I’d be interested in as well, but that’s a whole other story.

There are no leaks coming out right now so the LFC fans are getting restless (shocker) but I think it’s not going to be a particularly busy summer, rightfully or wrongfully

They’re trying to give Barca a chance. Why else would they want someone who sucks
