Around the League 47: Vancouver Collects All The Petterssons

Maybe I'm misremembering but because the NHL came to Raleigh on somewhat short notice, the locker room blueprints had to be redrawn.

Personally and this is just my opinion but our arena could use those upgrades they've been wanting. I wish the upper deck for instance wasn't so cramped but it is what it is.

Also, the home locker rooms could use an upgrade. Honestly thought after Dundon bought the team that would be the first thing done.

Wasn't there a "USA Chivas" that played in LA? I'm not familiar with this LAFC club
I wouldn't bet my house on it, but my recollection is that the last time they made upgrades to the home locker room they were limited by what they could do because there is some kind of empty space over it that they want to convert to usable space. They couldn't do it within that renovation budget but made it part of the plans for next (upcoming) bigger renovation.

Jim Montgomery wasn't the problem in Boston. I'm not sure Cassidy was either.

Boston’s problem is the same as it’s been for years. Their star players keep getting older and, due to the sustained success they had in the past, they don’t have the prospect pool nor the assets to effectively transition between aging vets and the next wave of talent.

I'm glad Tulsky didn't give TDA an extension this past offseason and went elsewhere for roster help. I appreciate TDAs time here in 2021-22 but he sucked last year and it looks like he isn't doing well with NYI so far.

On another note, those Wild jerseys are awful. That shade of green with the yellow is obnoxiously bad. They look like if Subway sponsored a team. Yes I know it's the old North Stars colors but I don't care, it's ugly.

I could not possibly disagree more about those green jerseys they are incredible

Actually, TDA has been pretty good for the Islanders. He's still iffy defensively, but his offense is really helping them. They had won like 8 of their last 10 after all.

those are very close to the jerseys I make in NHL for my buddies and I to use on our online team

forest green/electric yellow is my combo but you really can’t miss with any version of those two colors together
I prefer a darker green myself, but as a Clarkson grad I really can't complain about any combo of green and gold.

That is not the reason why, lol. It's because they've had terrible drafting, made terrible rental trades giving away a lot of picks, and signed some guys to terrible contracts that they've needed to attach picks to to get rid of. 2015 draft sunk them. But yeah they should've fired Nealy/Sweeney instead of those 2 coaches as their front ofifce is the real problem.

It’s hard to say the 2015 draft sunk them when they have the best record in the NHL since that draft and it’s not even that close.

They drafted pretty damn well around that (Pasta and MaCovy outside the top 13 picks, Swayman in the 4th, etc.)

They haven’t been getting good drafting the last 4 or 5 years though so they can’t backfill with quality players on ELCs.

They've had the best record since that draft because they had elite players in Rask, Marchand, Bergeron, Krejci and Chara all on sweetheart long term deals, all of whom were acquired and whose deals were signed by Chiarelli, not Sweeney. Chiarelli drafted Pastrnak too. Literally the only good draft picks the Bruins have had in Sweeney's entire tenure are McAvoy at 14 overall (and he's been overrated and struggled since the main core has moved on), Carlo in the 2nd in 2015 which was a fine pick, and maybe one could argue Frederic, although I don't think he's all that good.

The Bruins had an entire elite stanley cup winning core locked up to sweetheart deals and a ton of cap space to build around them and be a dynasty, as good or better than the Blackhawks, Pens, Lightning. And they came up far short mainly because of how pathetic of a GM Sweeney is. Don't get me wrong, I love it, I hope they keep him there forever. But he is by far the reason they did not win another Cup with that core and also the reason their roster is in such terrible shape right now and going forward. And yet they keep firing coaches who go on to win elsewhere. Lol

I wouldn’t change a single thing about that. They have everything they need in there and it all looks to be in working order. The idea that there needs to be some sort of five star luxury experience in the visiting locker room is just crazy, it’s a hockey game for crying out loud.

There’s a little of column A and a little of column B here, but it really is crazy to realize how close the 2009-2024 Bruins were one single W away from not winning a damn thing.

The only people “put out” in that video is the equipment staff - and they probably deserve something better given the bullshit they have to deal with. The players and coaches? Pound sand.

Boston has had some of the worst visiting lockerooms in all sports for like 100 years save for maybe the first 10 years of the new arena back in the 90s.
