Last year was my first season with seats, and I stupidly forgot to redeem the voucher for the Ekholm lithographs by the deadline at the end of August.

Before I try and see if they'll grant me an exception, anyone have any luck getting the lithographs after the deadline?

Oops....I just realized that I did as well.

I would shoot the season ticketing people an email and ask.

Go to the Oilers Store in the Ice District with your voucher. They had oodles of them there when I picked up mine last week.

Ugh.

I just spent the last week showing the most technologically inept person imaginable how to accept, manage and use his Oiler tickets. Loading to an Apple wallet was a step I didn't bother with as to not add another step to a process that was already confusing for him.

I don't know why they think they need to do this. Anybody that shows their ticket off the browser probably won't have got the message and it will just cause disruption at the gate. Just keep things simple for f*** sakes.

It’s super easy to put in the wallet but I feel your pain. I’ve transferred tickets to friends who then call me from the gate trying to get in asking how they get their tickets…

I don't understand how people don't download their tickets ahead of time, pisses me off when they are trying to bring them up in the line. I usually download to my Google wallet, don't understand how people aren't using that either. Screw credit cards. I loaded the Rogers app and it seems to have everything there, it would be nice to have the discount card there...

It really isn't complicated, but for folks that go to games only here or there I could see how it would be confusing.

For the discount card they ask to see the back of the card to see the discount level. Mine is 15%, does it go up the longer you have been a SSH?

Liar. you weren't even with me. ;)

JK aside a lot of people are averse to having such things as an apple wallet and I refuse to have it as well.

Ticketmaster needs a swift kick in the legal balls.

Can't speak for others but I don't have Apple Wallet Or Google wallet and never would have it. Don't like being required to either. Back when I had ticketmaster before all the latest breaches and hacks I found it usable but not user friendly. Really a headache for people that don't go to many events. Each time I went to an event I had to re download the app, get and updates, screw around awhile to get the tickets to even show. Not everybody is into the tech at all. I hate it. Very hard to navigate when your vision isn't that great at reading small print on a smartphone. Add that in bright settings I can't even see the smartphone screen. The handfull of times I've had e tickets I've loaded them before leaving home. But even this f***ed up a couple times as I have no data coverage and have to use the offline method which is tricky. I have just a basic plan because I never use smart phone for anything.

Probably the majority of people that don't go to events often don't know how to do any of this. How would they? There isn't anybody on my block that would know how to do this. For people that go to 100 events a year it must seem like second nature. For people that go to a ticketmaster event every year or two (vast majority of people) its anything but second nature. Tons of people get help to do this.

It’s a pain in the ass when I tell them what they need to do several times beforehand and >not< to wait till they are walking into the arena and in the ticket line.

Ticket transfers also come with instructions and it’s very intuitive - if you know how to use iPhone basic functions and know how to read it’s very simple really.

If your a Luddite, well then your shit outta luck I guess.

No its 15% for all STH

When it comes to computers I can do basically anything. Due to visibility problems (I'm 63 and bad eyes. I can't read normal size print) I can't do anything with a smartphone. I also have bricklayer hands, , and so small puny smartphones are just the bane of me. I try to type on those f***ing things and I hit 5 keys at once. Seems they were made for 12 yr olds or people that are 120lbs and tiny.

Ticket transfer instructions are anything but intuitive. If they were people wouldn't have so much difficulty with it. But again you go to over 100 events a year probably and so its probably become second nature. For people like me that rarely go to e ticket events its a shitshow. If I did it 100 times maybe I'd find it easy as well. But I basically can't use smart phones because they're so f***ing tiny.

I HATE smartphones so of course I despise any system that necessitates their use.

In anycase if ticket transfer was easy as pie and flawless why would countless complaints exist and pages like this right on Ticketmaster with thousands of queries?

To prevent errors, try these tips:

  • Turn off your VPN, Apple Private Relay and other proxy servers when transferring tickets.
  • If you’re signed into multiple devices, browsers, or tabs, or you’re trying to transfer while using public Wi-Fi, you might run into some errors. Make sure you clear your history and cookies and try again.
Try, try try again, while singing I'm never doing this again. Then throw you stupid f***ing phone on the ground and run over it 5 times. try try try again if you somehow haven't smashed it into bits. never buy another one. hehe

The complaints are minute compared to the number of people who seem to be able to figure it out around North America. If my best friends 80+ year old mother in law can figure it out I’m sure anyone with a functioning brain and iPhone set to large print can too.

This is not an insurmountable obstacle.

What are you going to do when cash is gone and you need the UBI app on your phone to spend your CBDCs at the grocery store? Only half kidding.

Haha. I use tech and I can usually get what I need to done without bugging someone for help, but if I had the choice I’d rather not. So much of this stuff is just for the convenience of the company. Not the consumer. People order off their phones in restaurants these days. How is that convenient or any kind of customer service? I’d also rather not do self checkouts at half the stores I frequent because only one human operated till is open and the lineup there is ten deep. Take a hint ffs. People don’t want to self checkout. And make no mistake, all of these sorts of things come with a cost of doing business savings for the company that sure isn’t passed on to the consumer. They may try to sell it as being ‘more convenient’, but is it really? Why is presenting a paper ticket any less convenient? Or speaking to a waiter? And when did we make the shift to prioritizing what is good for the company ahead of giving the customer what s/he wants? It’s f***ed up if you ask me. No offense to anyone with 100 apps on their phone who hasn’t seen cash or spoken to a service person since about 2010.

Oh I hate the self checkouts as well. But I love the convenience of not carrying around paper tickets. Also it stops fraudulent sales which were a real problem with printed tickets.

That said I bought tickets last week for an Iron Maiden concert in Germany next summer and recieved 2 very cool printed old style tickets in the mail today. Haven’t had tickets like that in so many years if not a couple of decades now.

As for cash, haven’t carried that for a decade either lol. It’s either card or Apple Pay with me lol.

Love the Apple Wallet. Hotel reservations, parking reservations for the games, tickets, rental car reservations, you name it I try to use it in the wallet app.

But for going to Oiler games it is rather simple even for half blind chunky old men. Like me.

It isn't simply a matter of "figuring it out" Its as stated that its hard to navigate anything on a smartphone with a visual impairment. It just is. Many people have this limitation. I also have polarized lenses and its a requirement in order for my eyes not to get worse. The interplay between polarized glasses and polarized smart phone screens, lets just say its noise.

next, figuring anything out is a function of the need, or want for somebody to figure it out. I have zero interest in smartphone functionality of what it can do. Anything tech I want to do I do on a computer, when I'm out and about the last thing I want to be doing is fiddling or looking at a phone. For some people what they like, their habits etc lend itself automatically to frequent (overuse) of tech devices which becomes real addiction. My most common relationship with my smartphone is to let it run out of power and be a paperweight.

Finally e tickets requires one to accept ticketmaster, to accept livenation, to accept apple terms or google terms and to accept any and all entities that one DOES NOT WANT TO ACCEPT.. for people that don't want to accept those theres no other option made available, and there should be. This is surveillance capitalism and as @harpoon mentioned its ALL for the benefit of the companies and not the consumer. Bad enough thats all being allowed. But that basic life is increasingly dictated, that you have to be subservient to these entities, you have to accept and conform to their requisites, thats just nuts. The data and information breaches alone should be a wake up call on how compromised users are.

I use interac for most transactions or credit for online. Brave new world. haha. Surveillance wants to know where we are and what we're doing all the time. I guess they got me there. All my transactions traced etc.

"I'd rather not" is enough reason to not want to do any of this. Ticketmaster charges people pretty incredible and unwarranted service fees basically for people to be doing all the legwork using their own tech devices, their own coverage, and completing the transactions.

Agree totally with the bolded.
