If he shot right handed, he would be my guy. I think he's going to be the best defenseman in this draft but we have so many LHD as it is. His youth also being one of the younger d-men helps too. Big fan of his. I just am not interested in having another LHD in the system unless Davidson and company do not like most of the guys currently in the system. At this point, give me the best talent (Celebrini, Catton, etc). If we're going off need (RHD) with the skill, I'm game too (Levshunov, Yakemchuk, etc).

The emergence of Vlasic would make him a bit redundant yeah. I would still be very happy if we got either him or Parekh with Tampas pick.
 
I honestly wouldnt be mad if we didnt select a D in the top rounds again. Our corps is coming along so well, and Rinzel seems to be on track to be a good one too.

Vlasic - Jones
Del Mastro - Allen
Kaiser - Phillips

These are all solid guys. Obviously you want the elite top 2 talent, and if so you take them, but i see F as a much bigger organizational need than D. Much bigger.

How do you guys like Michael Brandsegg-Nygard? His tape is super impressive, with some serious compete and battle, hitting everything in sight, but also showing quite a few skill moves as well.

He could be a wonderful option for the Tampa pick. We need more guys like him and Lindstrom for our small skill guys.

Got to be impressed by Buuim at Denver U..but hevis a LHD and small ...If hecwere a RD maybe takevhim if we lose out on a top 3 forward...but we do not need anotger LD...ratger we must inprovectgexRD ...Connor Barfy must go

Unfortunately stick with $9.5 force morexseasobsxaftercthisvone...but It is not logical that Vlasic continues his + excellence in the +/- and $9.5 continues with his defensive flaws to the negatives if they are on the same pairing g..



If he drafted a true RD diffence-maker to run our PP properly then we shoukd fill that need..Whoever it is needs to at leastxafd offense to mitigate any defensive flaws he might have.. Murphy has no offense to mitigate his defensive flaws..

So we either hetcax2xway RD or we getcan offfenseman who can tiltcthevice and Excell on the Pp and be at least no worse than Murphy in defending the crease..

The "net" gain from more offense vs at worst sane defenens but maybe better woukd be obvious.


Now I still woukd takeca forward ifcwe get a top 3 pick..

Celebrini=obviously #1overall..
Eiserman #2 despite him beibg just a goal scorer par excellence and not that great at otger things...butcstill goal scoribg is hard..but heciscexceptional at it..So the value is there.

3rd forward targetvis Cayden Lindstrom...Hawks do not needxanother smallish skikked center...We need Size..and Lindstrom has a big sizexat between 6'4 andc6'5 and maycyet grow more...Bestvpiwrr forward in the draft .The skating and goal scoring and hitting/grit /physical play is all tgere .. Hawks cannotvpass on such a big piwer center solution..

We have smalk centers...Brdard,Nazar Moire...do not need Anotger smalk center in Hekenius or Demidov.

NOW...Nikita Artamanov for a 17vyrvokd putting up the nimbersche gas in theKHL for hiscteam is very impressive...When you watch the videos on him you see talent that screams top 5 ability.. I know hecwas singkedxoutcasxaxriser ...but if evenv1 rankibg irgvhas hom now #2overakk that seems bold considering no ranking org had him in the top 15 even last month...

I woukdchave gladly taken him withnourxTB pick as ourc2nd oick in round 1,but if too many rankibgborgs move him up into early teens let alone top 5 or top 10 then hecwill not be on the board for us withbour TB pick.


Hawks NEEDS:

1.Big Power C who can skate and score goals and add physical pkay...

2 R shotx D ...must-have #1D impact on a game (even if plays 2RHD at evens due to $9.5 always gettibg 1D pairibgvrolecat evens despite his defensive flaws) and must run tge Po successfully.

3. W with either elite goal scoring talent or an alk round ability in both goal scoring and pkaymakingvfron thecwing.

Love Brandsegg-Nygard. Perfect fit as a Bedard winger imo

Dickinson plays his off side no? That gives him a much more viable and obvious fit on this roster moving forward

At the end of the day you just take the best player.

If we pick 4th, which I believe is the most likely position based on the odds, and they have Sam Dickinson as their 4th best player, you just take him. If that means you move on from Kaiser or Allan or EDM, then so be it.

If you have Dickinson and Levshunov at the same tier then you obviously go Levshunov for the RD positional advantage.

All that being said, if Eiserman doesn't make the WJC team (I don't think he will) its going to be easier and easier to see him fall out of the top 5.

I also think that as a whole this draft isn't good at all.

I think he will make it. If McGroarty doesn't play cuz of injury, it'll make the decision that much easier. Or they'll leave Hayes off because of politics (OHL).

I think the problem for Eiserman is if he isn't in a Top 6 role he isn't playing. He likely isn't in a Top 6 role so I could see someone like Hayes making it due to him PKing. Hagens likely makes it over Eiserman (atleast in my eyes).

After around 1/3 of the way through the draft year, this class has fairly average top end talent and an average depth to it. Definitely a better class than 2022 and 2021 at this point of the year, comparatively. I'm still on the hopeful side of things. Demidov, Eiserman, and Silayev are ahead of where players like Luke Hughes, Logan Cooley, and Kent Johnson were at this point of their draft year. I'm not going to bet on them being that good though lol.

Personally not that big of an Eiserman fan relative to others and trying to gauge a guy with no WJC and just MHL scoring is really hard. Tools are tools but I worry bout Demidov's draft year so far.

I'm not worried about Demidov. He dominated the KHL pre-season, then played almost no minutes in his first 4 KHL games. He then got injured early on in the MHL. Since his return, I think he's had 7 points in 5 MHL games. I think he should play in NA as soon as he can.
