Going to be watching him tonight against Moore.

I'm not convinced he ever gets that high. He's still a pretty inconsistent player. Tools are obviously next level though.

I've got it here in the Top 5.

Celebrini
Catton
Eiserman
Dickinson
Levshunov

I've watched a shit ton of junior hockey this year and this is where I'm at. I haven't seen enough of Demidov or Silayev to know what is going on with that.

Let me know what you think of Carter Yakemchuk if you've watched him. I like Levshunov alot but that kid is quickly becoming neck and neck with him as my favorite defensive prospect (RHD is a huge organization need currently with us). I don't think Yakemchuk is the greatest defender yet but the tools are there and I love that he's nasty to go along with the offense.

I know @hawksfan50 likes Zayne Parekh but I just don't see it with him. Great offensive defenseman, but he's very bad in his end. Plus, he's barely 6' which I don't believe will fit in Richardson's system (Yakemchuk and Levshunov for comparison are about 6'3 and 6'2)

I watched Parekh.. 3 games recently shift to shift I recorded. I wouldn't touch that kid. Doesn't play a lick of defense, doesn't even look like he cares to. Agile skater, whippy shot. Feels like a worse Boqvist. In the worst way.

Yakemchuk I saw one game of his vs Red Deer.. he scored and assisted that game. Still a work in progress in his own zone like most defenders at 17 but man that kid has a lot of tools. Shots +++

I record a ton of games and just watch the guys I want to watch shifts for the most part.

NCAA I see more of live stuff just by being in US and just easier access. Would love for a RD to work itself into our pick if it isn’t Celebrini or Catton.

It seems like Catton is a board favorite. He’s mostly in the 7-10 range. I like drafting the BPA but I can’t get past taking one of these elite RHD. Catton is another undersized eater bug. In five years we’ll have bedard and Nazar and Moore doing that. We need a power forward or two and a righty D in the worst way. Levshunov all day it’s a match made in heaven.

Power Forward =Cayden LIndstrom
RD=Zayne Parekh

So if we do not get Celebrini at #1or Eiserman at #2 I woukd go with either the BigPF in Lindstrom or the exceptional odfenseman i Parekh..
Parekh is so dynamic and the best goal scoringvdman I tge draft..

I f we miss on all 4 of tgese tgen Iwould take Levshuniv at #5.

From 6 on Ivam indifferent..probably not much of a difference-maker left in the draft..

Not sold on anyone else including Demidov at #6 on. With our 1st overall pick.

If we did not pick a RD (Parekh or Levshunov) with our 1st pick in round 1; then then would go RD with our 2nd pick in round 1..
.

Sign me up for Celebrini or Eiserman + Parekh with Tampas piick. It usually takes kids longer to develop the defensive game and in the range we're likely to pick in there aren't going to be any sure things so I like the huge upside potential.

If Levshunov gets the stamp of approval from our scouting department, choosing him seems to be pretty close to a no-brainer (unless we luck out again).

However, I'm intrigued by Lindstrom. His size would really complement our young, small-ish forward corps. If we could snag Yakemchuk with TB's 1st (might have to move up), that would be awesome. 'Course, it depends on the projected gap between Levshunov and Yakemchuk.

If there was ever a year when you bend the BPA rule, this could be it (note: bend doesn't mean break).

BPA, always.

You make your list and you draft according to it. You made the list over the entire year. If two guys are neck and neck yeah positional tie break but other than that. BPA.

is it BPA now, BPA @ 20, BPA @ 23, ...? because they could (will) be different. this ain't maths. projection is probably more important than current assessment. needless to say, projection is really effin' tricky

So impressive what he's doing. Initially I just liked him for his fun name, Konsta, but how can you ignore these things said about him and the numbers at that age.

I will say, I'm starting to like the forwards this year much, much more than the D. It was exciting to see so many D prospects before the season, but they all have some question marks one way or another.

Whereas with the forwards you have a bunch of guys emerging to the levels of Eiserman/Demidov with Catton, Lindstrom, Helenius.

Getting Celebrini of course is the prize, but right now it's looking like you can get a strong selection in the top 5-8 no matter what.

I'm in a similar boat at the moment. Levshunov for me is my #1 guy for defense. He's the only one I have ranked in the top part of the draft that I can see keeping up with top end forwards. I've only had a few looks at the other top ranked defensemen such as Silayev, Dickinson, Parekh, and Jiricek, but none have overly impressed me.

There's a strong crop of forwards right now. I think the names below are all in the running for a top 10 draft pick

- Celebrini
- Demidov
- Catton
- Eiserman
- Lindstrom
- Helenius
- Iginla

..................
- Terik Parascak
- Liam Greentree
- Nikita Atramonov
- Michael Brandsegg- Nygard
- Emil Hemming

If we can get 1 or 2 of the top crop of forwards, I'd be happy. I really love Catton's game all around, but it seems like the Hawks keep picking that type of player. I think it might make sense for us to steer clear from a structural perspective.

@clydesdale line I ended up finding a recording of the Calgary/Edmonton Oil Kings game from the 24th. Yakemchuk scored and hit the post twice.

He's got that toe drag release from the point like Makar. Doesn't quite skate like that though. I would bet he's gone before the TB pick, but too early for our own.

Celebrini is the end goal, but if we strike out, I think I’m leaning Catton right now as the consolation prize

Yea I was already sold on Catton but @TLEH won me over after I continued to watch him and put him even future up my list. I'm still putting Levshunov over him based off need but man.. I'm at the point of just take the best talent and figure out the rest later (or hope Tampa Bay sucks and falls to #11 and Yakemchuk is there  )

Helenius is on absolute fire lately. If he were an inch or two taller I think he'd be getting a ton of hype. You could argue he might be redundant in the Blackhawks' prospect pool but I don't think they're quite oversaturated with speedy, hard-working sub-6 foot guys just yet, and from what I read about him he may have more of both skill and smarts than either of Nazar and Moore

Problem for me with Helenius from a purely statistical standpoint is that LIIGA is not a good league as of late and hard to gauge that production.

That's fair, hopefully his World Juniors will be a good barometer on how he's stacking up with the other forwards in the draft. Even in a weaker league, a 5'11" 17 year old playing center and scoring at his pace against men is fairly impressive.

The more i watch Sam Dickinson tape the more im convinced he's going top 10. Way more imoressed with him than say yakemchuk. He's not putting up the numbers most of the other highly ranked dmen are, but his defensive game is already so well developed.
