Catton is my #2 behind Macklin.

He is creepin up there for me. He is so, so good. I still got a thing for Levshunov but that's only because of need moreso than talent (even though he's very talented defenseman in his own right) but I think Yakemchuk is slowly winning my prospect crush love on defense as it is. Catton as a smallish forward is his only downfall but that's only because we have alot of them as it is but you always take the best talent and figure out the rest later. I'm game for a Catton/Yakemchuk draft.

I think he'll end up being the second best forward in this draft class when it's all said and done.. maybe even the best with Celebrini already a shoulder surgery on his resume with how he plays.

Catton is a Saskatoon kid too, I'm sure Korchinski has known him for a while.

Macklin will most likely go 1 obviously, having a 2 PPG D0 in Hockey East is incredible.

Even after the Hawks crapped the bed against Tampa last night, the Bolts are only currently at a 35% chance of making the playoffs according to The Athletic's model.

And I ran the Tankathon mock draft once. Got Catton and Yak. Not bad.

I think I woukdcrevise thecrankibgs with a Blackhawks NEED perspective thrownon:

Using that twist I think I pass on any targettibgbof Demodov...Another smallish center...no thanks. And hisxstats I the mhl this year do not supoirt his high ranking given the expectation of special production..AND I do not tbinkbthecHawksxwill wait for him to marinate several years in Russia before coming over.I do not think he fits our Need.

So...given all this my top 5 targets if we get a top 5 pick and connecting both talent and positional role needs:

1. Macklin Celebrini C
2. Cayden Lindstrom LW ...best power forward with speed size and skill and hitting ability all in 1 pkayer...

3 Cole Eisernan RW ...best goal scorerr in the draft . Rw

4.Zayne Parekh RD =offenseman extraordinaire..
Solves PP qb problem ..improved defending this season over last season but still needs to add muscle...so dynamic.. Could be an Erik Karlsson tyoe impact on team offense. You havecto hope he will keep improving defensively

5 Artyom Levshunov RD ...better 2way dman than Parekh and bigger size but not as dynamic .

I think ifcwe kandcanybofvtgese 5 we will be very happy..

*Elite Prospects has Kindstromat #4 already...but other rankings put him 8-16 range ...But at 6'5 205 already andvputtibg up the numbers he has already ,he may beva unicorn gem of this draft with easily NHL projectible success destined.. You also have to love hos top end zone entry ability..

Anyway I thi k I am on goidxgroubdcwith my top 5 targets.

Thex1 iffy concern is Eiserman...you get an extraordinary goal scorer . BUT other parts of his game may nit help the team that much. Not gong to drive ojay.. Only average defensiveky.Stoll goal scoribgbis so difficult to find tgat it woukd be hard to pass on himat #3 ..

Look..Hawks need so much.:

A bigger 2 way C with ekitecscoribg ability both in goaksxabdxassists=Celebrini

A powerr forward with size speed skilk and hitting ability =Lindstrom

A RD with #1PpPqb ability, goal scoring/shot and dynamic puck carrying ability to entervo-zobe and carbectfrough checkers...=Parekh

ARD with sonecsizexwho has 2 way ability and can akso serve as a point dman on tge PP Levshunov.

Of course none of tgse guys sovesctge $9.5 problem...butSeth isxanotger issue for a separate discussion ofvtge albatross question.

Aucoin, Barnaby, Lapointe, Curtis Brown... offered a pile of cash to Elias and Kariya that offseason.
Dale Tallon admitted to the fact he didn’t fully understand what ‘the new NHL’ after the lock out would look like…I remember him bringing NHL officiating about 20-25 games in because his team wasn’t understanding all the new obstruction rules…

They understood it just fine they just brought in a punch of pylons ill suited for the new style of play.

I don't recall them being a cap team? I can't imagine they walked into the season with the ABC line as their first line and thought 'we got a contender here'

Does anyone know what happens to the Hawks pick in 2025 if they win a top spot this year? Are they locked in or if a team jumps up from behind do they still move down?

If we're 3rd, 4th or 5th OA, who do we take and why?

Also, say the Bolts slot in at 15 OA: which kids do you like there? Yakemchuk seems like an obvious choice (assuming we don't take a D man with our first pick).

helluva cohort for RHD

It feels like a foregone conclusion that the Hawks are getting Celbrinni or Levshunov. Celbrinni at 1 or levshunov at 2 or 3 or 4.

Going to be watching him tonight against Moore.

I'm not convinced he ever gets that high. He's still a pretty inconsistent player. Tools are obviously next level though.

I've got it here in the Top 5.

Celebrini
Catton
Eiserman
Dickinson
Levshunov

I've watched a shit ton of junior hockey this year and this is where I'm at. I haven't seen enough of Demidov or Silayev to know what is going on with that.

I've liked what I seen from Lindstrom. If he can bring this level of play throughout the season and keep evolving his playmaking. I'd put him right behind Celebrini and Catton.
