I’m actually not worried about the Mets offense. No one hits in April. I’m more worried about the durability of the Mets pitching staff, and that was before Diaz, Verlander, and Quintana spontaneously combusted.

The Senga ghost fork makes me nervous.

I know the Mets' hapless offense is exacerbating things, but I honestly feel like things move too quickly now. I might be in the minority there, but I always kind of appreciated and enjoyed the more leisurely pace of baseball. I think the rules are well-intentioned and are definitely effective to that purpose, but if they could just like, I don't know, add a couple extra seconds to the pitch clock or something. Everything feels rushed.

I'm sure I'll adjust to it, but that's not really the point--a big part of the enjoyment of baseball, for me, was the fact that it WAS played at a slower pace. It's like if they tried to dramatically speed up the pace of play in golf. I wouldn't enjoy that as a player and I wouldn't enjoy it on TV. There's something to be said for a sport to be able to simultaneously entertain you and relax you.

It's going to be like the 2005-06 NHL Season. We'll be used to it by July.

It does feel weird now.

Holmes is f***ing garbage lol

How long are the Yankees going to tell themselves they have something in this Triple-A pitcher because he had two good months?

How good do you guys think Volpe will be? Really want to add him but I’m in a 8man leauge and already have Anderson & Baez at SS.

I’m newer to baseball my player evaluations are poor
I’d take Volpe over Baez in fantasy. Grab him now if he struggles you can always drop him

It's past time for robo umps. The ball and strike calls are beyond atrocious.
I've always been against that because it removes the grey area for pitchers to aim for and basically eliminates most of the catcher position.

That being said, something has to be done.

Make it hybrid system. We have the technology to know what strikezone is. You see the little box.

If it's touching the line, the umpire gets to make the call. If he's not, he's overruled by the computer.

As currently constructed Baltimore will finish ahead of the Yankees.

Laugh my 3-0 count and Hicks strikes out even after a gift ball, for delay of game.

Hahaha Trashman is a dumb fck but Hal is an even bigger ignoramus.

There’s absolutely no pitching on this team after Cole.

Yankees are in big big big trouble.
Toronto Baltimore are better .

I had no idea the Mets had someone named Dennis Santana in their bullpen. It's always fun early in the season when that guy you didn't know was on the roster makes one of his three appearances before going back on waivers.

Unpopular opinion; Volpe is closer to Rob Refsnyder than he is Derek Jeter.
Imo he’s a 2b not a SS.
I don’t see him ever hitting more than 11 HR.

Senga looks interesting. Basically as advertised--great raw stuff, questionable control. He can definitely retire ML hitters with regularity but I feel like he's also going to have some short outings where he just blows up because he can't find the plate.

I'd say, "If they could work with him on his control..." but at this point in his career he probably what he is. Looks like a #3/#4 that will sometimes look like an ace.

Solid opening Yanks series, Brito had electric stuff today. That Stanton homer was ridiculous, Judge picking up where he left off.

I can’t imagine having to watch 162 games of that Giants lineup.

It's easy to say that now, but in April of 1996, you would have said Jeter isn't a traditional shortstop and doesn't have the "it" factor Rizzuto did or whoever the f***.

You're literally always mad and if we had HF back then, I can't envision you not complaining about the 1996 Yankees or 1994 Rangers through most of those years.

Every other post of yours on 1993-94 HF would have been "we'll never win with Leetch because he's too soft and makes too many mistakes."

You don't have to imagine. You've watched 44 games of this Yankees lineup in the postseason since 2017.

Hopefully they're healthy by the playoffs and LeMahieu and Volpe can add some needed elements.

Would also be a huge weapon if Torres can keep his head on straight. The guy's the biggest dead-push hitter I've ever seen in my life and every year he goes through a stretch of trying to pull.

He was definitely anxious to start today. You could see him pacing the dugout in the top of the 1st, which went pretty long.

Once he settled in, I liked what i saw.

I have no confidence in the lineup against a quality pitching staff. Still way too many high strikeout, low batting average hitters. Also now that the shift is gone, there is no excuse for Cashman failing to bring in quality left handed bats. This team has never won a title without them.

I didn’t say anything negative?
Except I see him as a scrappy Pedroia like 2b
I like the kid

Now

Know that the nyy pr machine - mlb pr machine are shoving this guy up people’s asses bc he stole 2 bases - people are laughing - you are aware correct ?

Lastly the Yankees producing a video introduction of guy is the most un Yankee move - ever .

As in ever

Why not let the kid come In - smoothly.

I think volpe has already walked and stolen more bags than refsnyder has in his life.

The 11 hr comment is going to look really dumb really soon.
Let’s bookmark it .
11 HR are a lot .
In Derek Jeter’s 20 season seven of them, he hit less than 11.

I hope he hits 42
