There's a reason Chicago was willing to dump Dach for scraps. The guy has a bum wrist and was never all that impressive offensively. If they passed on Wright or Cooley because they knew they had Dach in the pipeline at C then it's IMO a stupid gamble. And if Slaf ends up an Armia type because his speed and low IQ are not up to snuff in the NHL (which is, honestly pretty likely) then this will look even worse. Sorry if I am not elated we are banking the next 10 years of this franchise on gambles and hopes and dreams.
I feel the same way. This draft has been a nightmare for me. We did all the wrong moves that will set us back for years.

If you want Dach, why not just move up a bit for Geekie?
I think they want a faster rebuild. Therefore getting guys like Dach, Barron vs. draft picks that will take longer to pan out. They are trying to mix it up a little - a strategy I agree with. Hope the players they picked as part of that strategy are the right ones though.

Then why not trade Guhle instead of Romo?

People acting like Wright wouldn't be a gamble if we chose him. lol

All these picks are gambles, this isn't a year where you draft a franchise player.
Wright was the safest pick to make.

Okay.

They better be right.....but calm down guys, we HAVE to let them do what they want to do and see.
I hate this trade.

But Gorton is the guy who got both Zibanejad and Strome while they were floating around on bad team in the NHL. Both ended up as genius move. Not saying this one is the same, I would be shock if it is.....but got to see the end results here.

Lots of complaints about Dach. He's only 21 years old fellas. He has lots of upside. He was supposed to be Team Canada's captain and top 6 centre one year at the WJC and broke his wrist right before the tournament.

Too bad about Romy but we have lots of D in the system on the left side and we got a 6ft4 center with upside. I have to think there was maybe something about Romy that MSL told management he can live without.

To be fair Chicago has one of the worst management in the whole league. They keep piling bad moves over bad moves, Not sure i'd call their evaluation something that you can rely on.

Can't score a goal to save his life. And habs have Harris, Barron and Gulhe coming in. Smart move if so.

We have on idea how those guys will pan out. Harris is far from a sure deal. Same Xhejaj. We will see what Barron.

And Dach is often injured.

Be big seems to be the strategy. For anybody who thinks we will get Hutson...lol

Haven't seen enough of Dach to comment on him but I'm a bit concerned on why the Hawks gave up on him so soon at 21 years old.

I'm pretty gutted though that they traded away Romanov but I guess they feel Guhle can step in for him sooner than later. :dunno:
