Lots of complaints about Dach. He's only 21 years old fellas. He has lots of upside. He was supposed to be Team Canada's captain and top 6 centre one year at the WJC and broke his wrist right before the tournament.

Too bad about Romy but we have lots of D in the system on the left side and we got a 6ft4 center with upside. I have to think there was maybe something about Romy that MSL told management he can live without.

We already drafted an injury plagued captain for team canada. How did that turn out?

Bar none, the best player on the eye test alone. Numbers are a big red flag. I wanted Wright because he was super skilled, high IQ, more productive. But in not single viewing did Wright look better. In the playoffs he looked like an old truck floating around. I had to forego that.

Scouts on tree teams judges that Wright had not the proper competitive edge for them. But I am sure he is going to have a great NHL career, possibly better than the three drafted before him.

They will probably fill with journeymen types who maintain a good culture, if needed.

I think the indications so far are that they are aiming for bedard next year.

Dach was awesome in his first season from my viewings. He also had an impressive playoff that year where he was even playing over Toews. Then injury screwed his 2nd season. You're basically betting that his 3rd season is just growing pains and he's going to break out.
