As is Dach currently, HuGo went full praying mode tonight.
If the Debrincat trade was stupid then what makes anyone think Davidson has any idea what he is doing. The question is whose evaluation did they rely on with respect to Dach?

Lots of complaints about Dach. He's only 21 years old fellas. He has lots of upside. He was supposed to be Team Canada's captain and top 6 centre one year at the WJC and broke his wrist right before the tournament.

Too bad about Romy but we have lots of D in the system on the left side and we got a 6ft4 center with upside. I have to think there was maybe something about Romy that MSL told management he can live without.

People have experienced enough of "KK is still young, give him time"

Saflovsky is a high risk, high rewards kind of pick.... But it can fail miserably.
Bar none, the best player on the eye test alone. Numbers are a big red flag. I wanted Wright because he was super skilled, high IQ, more productive. But in not a single viewing did Wright look better. In the playoffs he looked like an old truck floating around. I had to forego that.

Haven't seen enough of Dach to comment on him but I'm a bit concerned on why the Hawks gave up on him so soon at 21 years old.

I'm pretty gutted though that they traded away Romanov but I guess they feel Guhle can step in for him sooner than later. :dunno:
Hawks have pick #7 and pick #13. Not bad at all.

People acting like Wright wouldn't be a gamble if we chose him. lol

All these picks are gambles, this isn't a year where you draft a franchise player.
Exactly. There are no slam dunks.

You won't see any of the top drafting teams trading away their picks next year.

I don't know if Chicago necessarily gave up on him...Debrincat for 7th, Dach for 13th...they're collecting picks to rebuild.

But then again we're also rebuilding and giving away 13ths lol
