New STG episode:

ASF is "100% confident" Hayes is going to Columbus this summer. We're probably going to move DeAngelo. "Could conceivably move Carter Hart." Likely one of Sanheim or Provorov gone this summer. TK could be traded if we're blown away.

I’m listening to it now, just further add some context. He seems to think the Columbus deal the terms are pretty much agreed upon. The reason it didn’t get done at the deadline is because Columbus didn’t want to make payments on his contract for this season. So come summer that’s less payments they would have to make.

The Flyers are just looking to eject from DeAngelo at this point even with little return coming back.

Wasn't a major selling point for hiring Tortorella the belief that he'd be getting more out of the players and changing the culture?

Three high draft picks for a guy who predictably has been shit and wasn’t needed to begin with. And not even a year later they’re desperate to get rid of him.

Amazing work by Chuck, the coach, and the advisors who aren’t going anywhere. A beautiful example of why this retirement-home franchise is trash and will remain trash.

ASF didn’t elaborate on why they want to get rid of DeAngelo. But I’d imagine they realize he sucks. Optically they can just put the blame all on Fletcher. So they don’t have to justify the cost opportunity anymore. The other reason would be he’s sucking up good ice time/usage here that could go to younger players. If you’re employing him you have to give him PP1 time & for his caphit you probably have give him top four time at ES/5v5 to justify the cap hit.

Sounds like we may see Adam Ginning called up for Tuesday’s game against Columbus.

19 points & +25 — not a bad rookie AHL season.

Told you he was a lock to play in the NHL. ;)

He'll change the culture by dumping a few veterans who are just going through the motions and replacing them with young, hungry kids.

Right now they're just trying combinations to see how players look in different roles, Torts isn't trying to lose games, he's just not making decisions based on trying to win games vs getting information on players for next season.

I like how an assistant coach takes over job of a disinterested HC for multiple games and somehow ends up saying "some guys seem to not care". Love the irony, 10/10 would laugh again

You ever hear the saying you will catch more flies with sugar than you will with salt . Tort's is straight salt all the time and players just get tired of him . Instead of trying to coach to get the best out of players he is strait up my way or the highway .

These are not the first players to quit on him and if you think it will be easy to get UFA players to come here with him acting like an ass hat your crazy .

I don't think there's a rush quite yet.

If you trade Provorov, York may move to LHD, leaving TDA, Risto and Attard as your 3 RHDs.
I don't think they plan on Andrae playing on the Flyers to start the season.

So unless they acquire a RHD, TDA will be here next fall.

This is mythology, the only player in CBJ to complain about Torts was Dubinsky, b/c his was demoted to 3C when he was 30. The next season, he was out of the league - an example of a player unable to admit to himself his skills were declining.

Johansson was traded in January of Tort's first season, but for Sean Jones.

Meanwhile, a lot of his former players enthusiastically praise him.

It comes down to whether a player responds to "tough love," unlike AV, Torts gives 2nd and 3rd chances to work your way out of the doghouse, we've seen that this season. And as we've seen, he benches everyone at some point.

Torts has far too much power in this organization.

It's going to become a real issue more, and more.

Fastest growing religion in the USA:naughty:. Im bored today, throw a little grenade haha.

They've made every indication they're going to give him what he wants, and he's indicated he wants the dinosaur idea of grinders.

Back when he was hired I predicted that the org would gleefully cater to all his worst instincts, and they are.

TDA scratched again, Braun in.

Torts didn't like TK/Tippett together or Tippett at LW.

May move Alison to LW to see how he can do there.

Also...

Torts is a massive asshat. “doesn’t believe in the fatigue factor.” 6 games, 10 days is a significant amount of hockey in a very short time period. He has worms for brains
