Really? Because I'm not surprised. You could see it by watching him.

Once again, this team will not stop being terrible until random dorks on the internet aren't better at this than they are.
This should have been pretty obvious to anybody with two brain cells to rub together. DeAngelo started last season as a third pairing/power play specialist. He only got promoted to the top pair Bear got covid and was stuck in a hotel room for two weeks.

And he only went to the top pair instead of the second because Skjei-Pesce have good chemistry and the Canes had the luxury of playing him next to Jaccob Slavin who is more than capable of erasing his f***ups. Also Skjei-DeAngelo would have been a bit too ‘Jesus take the wheel’ for Brindy.

I think I found the problem with who Biff is talking to.

Even if they only watched the Carolina games against Philly and no other video, it should have been obvious.

Wonder if Hogberg asked to be released so he could return to Sweden?
Right now he's behind Zamula and Ginning, hasn't shown much progress and seems to be a AHL+ type.
With Andrae coming over next year he can see the handwriting on the wall.

TDA was worth a gamble, he just wasn't worth a 2nd, 3rd and 2yr/$10M gamble.

He's kept his nose clean, his offensive talent is indisputable, he's feisty, but after 50 games if you can't pick up fundamentals and at least play passable defense, well . . .

Evolving Hockey says the same basic thing.
I don't have to use analytics to determine he is piss poor defensively , the eye test is obvious . I have been complaining for weeks on here about his defensive play even when Tort's was bragging him up . He gets benched and he cleans it up a bit for a game or so and then he reverts back to the same crap .

It's not new on here just cause Tort's finally mentions it and suddenly our brain dead media jump all over it so they can get clicks and likes .

The first month when all the yahoos raved about how underrated his defense was......that was a helluva time.

Remember: Fletcher, in his post-trade presser, said DeAngelo was a top pair defender. The man who only ever talks about defense, jettisoning a vastly superior Ghost in the process, acquired the worst defensive player in the league. Might want to sit down for this: he doesn't know what the f*** he's doing.

Yeah , me either. Just showing what the impacts were from model to model.

The discussion about his shitty defense goes all the way back to when he was acquired, before his first game!

Adding TDA and Risto is his idea of improving the team. Not offensively, DEFENSIVELY.

I truly can’t even imagine what is going on in that head of his. It’s not even just classic dinosaur thinking, it’s something far more confusing.

Yeah, for most things the analytics arent needed to bring you to a conclusion. They just help show you the magnitude - good or bad - of what your eyes are seeing.

We can easily see TDA is a disaster defensively. What we might not see is he’s literally the biggest disaster in the league.
