His 2017 season was pretty comparable and he was essentially a Gray/Stroman level pitcher from 2015-2019. I think his contract's AAV will settle in between McCullers and Wheeler. I'm not sure if he'll get that 5th year though.
5 years $100 million is where I'd have him right now. If theres a bidding war, I could see 5 years $120ish million.

If you could front load the crap out of it I would be okay with 5x 100.

Something like 35/35/14/8/8. Leaves you a tonne of flexibility at the end of he deal with Ryu off the books by then too.

That would make a lot of sense if you back loaded deals on the younger position players who'll need contracts in a few years. It sounds like Shatkins have the go-ahead to spend, but its Rogers, so I won't hold my breath.

That was the 84 Tigers that went 35-5. 87 was the year we had the division lead going into the last week of the season and lost it on the last day to Detroit. That STILL hurts!
That's right, it's been a few years, but I remember that through most of the 80s Toronto and Detroit were rivalries both the Tigers and the Red wings.

Jano back means less McGuire hopefully and I like that a lot. Especially if he keeps up what he did past May.

The way most of the team has been straight up missing meatballs right down the middle of the plate for the last three weeks is disturbing.

Damn it, gotta have this game with Boston losing big again. Boston is very catchable. If Jays can sweep these guys and win 2 of 3 against Oakland, they are very much back in this. Wishful thinking, perhaps. Offence has to wake up.

Huh. I kind of wondered if the Jays might go after Polanco. Then I looked at his stats and realized he's been turrrible for most of the last 3 years. By the stat line he was an absolute train wreck defensively this year.

I did the exact same thing. Was going to bring it up then looked at his numbers and said no thanks.
