They can bring me in at this point, and I think they’d still win.

Hey, now. Don't get cocky. Look what happened with the Athletics. That big lead was pushed all the way to a save situation in one inning.

We've seen enough leads get blown. Keep that foot on the gas at all times.

Jays are somehow back in the race now, despite a 13 game winning streak by the Yankees when the Jays were badly struggling.

Whats the over under on making the playoffs?
I am out of the loop

What's the point of Kevin Smith? He can't hit. Maybe I am crazy, but I'd rather play Valera or Lamb over him. He is totally overmatched.

The guy is probably the MVP of AAA this season. Seeing how he only has 30 PA, it's not hard to fathom giving him more AB's before writing him off. Guy has an excellent defensive reput ation, and his wRC+ before today is 32. Valera is only a 34% better hitter than him and Lamb is a 67% better hitter while being very bad defensively. The difference is not exactly earth shattering for the 9th best hitter in the lineup.

His ceiling is higher than both of theirs, and his bat is higher than Espinal's. I'd rather see what we got.

Yeah, Smith has looked pretty good defensively, although he looks like one of those guys who will probably need more time to adjust to hitting in the majors.

yeah, it honestly reminds me a lot of the Riley Adams situation. He had good numbers on Buffalo, and sucked to start his call up with the Jays (also 30 plate appearances, with an OPS of just .345). Now he's killing it for Washington. And Smith was even better in AAA than Adams, so being patient with him makes a lot of sense

3 games back, feels like we should be 6 games up lol

The worst part is there are two distinct stretches that feel like that. First all the bullpen fails in May, then the offense swoon in August. Feels like they should be up by 12 games, heh.

Another scenerio where his dumb decision doesn't matter. His team wins in spite of him.
The Jays can never have a good manager lol I used to criticize John Gibbons' every move in 2015/16 and now its Montoyo's turn. For this team, it seems like their overall talent prevails over their manager's usually boneheaded decisions
