This is getting gnarly. Low scoring against the ORIOLES? I said their clutch hitting wasn't that great, but I never say it was BAD. Certainly not this bad.

Grich should be done in Toronto after this season. He is not good.

Yeah, but who will take him?

The entire offense taking a steep nosedive in August is concerning. I still think a big part of it is due to their approach, but maybe there’s more to it than that.

Losing Springer seems to have really messed up their confidence. Or they're tired. Or whatever pitchers were doing to control the Jays in timely situations before has become so widespread EVERYONE is pitching them that way, now. What was that they said during the broadcast about change ups?

Im frustrated like everyone else. This week was huge. Tampa doing the jays a huge favor. And jays cant even beat baltimore. But I didnt even think of this myself. This is the 1st year for a lot of these guys playing a full 162. Likely part of the reason they are fatigued. No excuse every team has played a lot.

So much for the veteran presence. How could you not see the runner wasn't at 2nd? It's in your line of sight.

Oh, for sure. I've been saying all year long this is still a young team and it will show sooner or later, but so many people were enraptured by Vladdy and the easily explainable run differentials they didn't want to listen to me. Well, now I've been proven right ten times over, as I have been all season long, and they can't handle it, so now all those people are ignoring me, lol.

Well, his focus is on catching the ball and delivering it home as fast as he can. Pat and Buck are right, it was up to our guy at second to call for the throw.

I don't deny that, but it's supposed to be the veterans directing the young guys, not the other way around. And Teoscar is hardly a kid.

Wow, someone saying Buck and Pat are right. You never see that around here.

The reality is that the starting pitching has held up and the offense has completely crapped the bed down the stretch. It’s a serious concern and they need to figure why it happened so it doesn’t happen again.

And I don’t think it’s just some random dip in BABIP either. That might happen to one or two batters, or maybe your whole team has a bad stretch for a week.

This is literally the entire f***ing batting lineup hitting like absolute garbage for almost a full month. They’re not only struggling against good pitchers, they’re barely eeking out runs against guys with 5+ ERAs. And they’re obviously not devoid of talent either, so it isn’t just because they’re bad hitters.

It’s a damn shame, because if the offense had matched the pitching we’d almost certainly be 15+ games over right now and a lot closer to a playoff spot.

Underrated part of the last couple games: having Dan & Pat in the ballpark makes for a more enjoyable, attentive broadcast. It's nice not having 5 minutes of guessing over what happens because they can't watch all their monitors, Buck & Pat not constantly talking over each other, and multiple seconds of delay on every action before there's a call.

I find they are having very poor at-bats. Not seeing a lot of pitches and weak contact.

Serious question, has any team suddenly choked as hard? I’m not even talking about wins, or being up in a playoff series. I’m talking about a top 3 offense suddenly turning into a bottom 3 offense literally overnight, losing all ability to hit in any critical situation. It’s like Atkins sold the team’s soul to the baseball devil and he’s here to collect.

No excuse there… leadoff double no outs and you cant get him in
Valera basically gets the Joe Panik treatment.

I mean if the goal is to win why is Valera hitting in the bottom of the 7th with a runner on 2nd. Valera shouldn’t be hitting late in a tight game yet he’s now batted 3 times the past two nights. He would do the same shit with Panik. Little shit like that by Montoyo just pisses me off more than the blatant f*** ups.

I'm sure Charlie "had a feeling" that Valera was going to come through with a hit or some nonsense.
