Do you think this board is the center of the Flyers’ fan universe?

The “you disagree only for the sake of being contrarian” argument is lazy & fallacious. I could just as lazily contend, “you only agree for the sake of herd membership” argument.

It truly is fallacious and I never even contended that I make no mistakes, I am able to admit occasional faults. The start of this all was half-joking about tucson making half of that board of fallacies in each of his post and how it can hardly be viewed solely as a "hyperbole, otherwise valid point."
I am iritated (but not surprised) that the conversation then took an unproductive turn into a hijack of "yeah but what about you"

Literally just three examples of many, but easily enough to prove that someone is just being a contrarian. Nobody else could possibly believe all three of these things and argue them so often.

-Hak is a good and smart coach
-Hagg is good and Ghost is bad
-Stewart is good and NAK is bad

Hagg is good, Sanheim is bad

I’d really like to get a quality goalie as a back up. I feel like that’s the most important thing. Forwards are good with Frost and great if Patrick is good which it looks like he may be, D is good with the guys we have plus rookies. If Hart goes down for a long time or needs time, Elliot won’t work. He’s only good when he plays every once in awhile. It seems like there will be a few goalies that will have no choice but to sign a 1 year back up deal this year.

Once again, you say something dumb, then will squack when people call you out on it.

Frost....is not a project
MORIN....WAS A PROJECT

If you don't know why the difference, that's on you.

Why feed the troll? Thats what they want. Every time you respond, they win.

You made a big deal out of logical fallacies while accusing someone who often doesn’t agree with this particular board’s majority of doing so only to be contrarian. Definition of a logical fallacy. Of course it’s going to be called out.

But this is tiresome, I agree with you there.

I "made a big deal out of them" probably because he includes them in every post of his - and they are hardly "rhetorical devices" as you have called it. But we have been there already.

Oh come on. A project by definition isn’t a finished product. And Frost sure as hell isn’t a finished product. He’s still a work in progress. Unless you think he’s complete & polished.

Weaselly answer by Meltzer. Doesn’t answer “what is more likely” & leaves out the pronoun before “would prefer.” Meltzer would prefer or the Flyers would prefer?

Giroux wasn't complete and polished when he entered the NHL. Neither was Schenn, nor Carter, nor Richards. Or JVR.

Frost isn't benefitting from setting up bad players. With the vision he's shown, he's better served learning to play with talent. The AHL holds players back at some point, and a player won't hit the next level until they're playing with NHL talent at the NHL level.

Find me the next Ryan Hartman. With more cap and term.

Can almost guarantee I'd prefer a 3rd rounder to whatever roster player they get.

Of course, Hartman had a good season after we traded him.
CF 52.76%, xGF 56.12%
CFrel +4.07, xGFrel +4.11

Problem is you can't count on a repeat.

I would have less of a problem if our ahl team ran a system. Let alone the same system. And while he can work on specific things. The nhl is harder. Less time faster pace. The timing in the ahl isn’t going to help him adjust in the nhl.

Giroux was 21 and way ahead of Frost when he entered the NHL.
21 ES points in 42 games (not 6 in 20)., 5 points in 6 playoff games
CF 51.24%, xGF 53.28%
CFrel +5.05., xGFrel +4.87

You could make a better case with JVR at 20, but he was a wing, not a center.
Carter didn't start until he was 21, played 12:04 a night, didn't play a major role until age 22
Richards was playing 15:23 at 20, only put up 23 ES points, but like Couts, could do other things while he learned on the job.

Frost is better served when he's strong enough to be capable of holding his own on defense and can finish plays on offense.
He's not Giroux, maybe he'll be similar to Carter and Schenn, who needed a couple years to make their mark on the NHL.
