Not at all what I said. That's sort of like saying you should promote students straight from junior high to college, because you can't get better at college without being in college.
At this point I'm kind of past the point of hoping and kind of expecting that they end up with one of them. I think Fletcher realizes they need more high end skill and dynamic ability on offense. They also need to shake up the core a bit.I would bet on Laine over Gaudreau, although they've probably had discussions about both. The problem, of course, is finagling the cap, and that's no small impediment. Very curious to see what happens.
Do you think he's a finished specimen? I sure as hell hope not.so I go away for a few hours, and come back to: "Frost is a project"
I'll quote Ron Hextall here: "The NHL isn't a developmental league."
When I was younger I was all about just playing the most naturally talented players. I've come to believe over time that such is a very oversimplified strategy and the wrong approach.
Most organizations' top prospects enter the professional ranks having been able to get by on raw talent and have tons of bad habits. Most are physically weak. Most need to learn how to play against not just men, but also the best players in the world. The young players who can get by on talent alone are very rare. Morgan Frost is not one of those rare players.
I understand the allure of the mystery box. But when it boils down to it, Frost is a project that is going to take some time. He still got 20 NHL games this season, and put up 2 goals and 5 assists.
How could you kudy?
Once again, you say something dumb, then will squack when people call you out on it.Do you think he's a finished specimen? I sure as hell hope not.
I agree. Either acquisition would be exciting. Fletcher's father loved making big trades. Chuck showed what he is willing to do with the gutsy Hayes move, and there's little doubt in my mind he's interested in another major move to add some goal scoring and dynamism. The type of players on the market right now don't come along very often, and if you can hit on that LeClair/Desjardins type trade you can vault yourself into perennial contender. At this point I'm kind of past the point of hoping and kind of expecting that they end up with one of them. I think Fletcher realizes they need more high end skill and dynamic ability on offense. They also need to shake up the core a bit.
I agree.thing is, giroux and jake arent getting any older and if the organization actually values frost as their next franchise player and does nothing when they retire, we are in trouble. that's why im saying we have to look at a proven young trade piece to build around, we cant rely on the draft unless we dont make the playoffs, get lucky to get a top 5 pick without tanking which we wont, and it has to be a great draft class not a bad class where we had to draft jvr and nolan patrick type of players.
it's that difficult to build through the draft.
Where did I I say he should skip anything. Stop reading more in to what I am saying than what I am saying.See, that's what I mean. Skip high school and you don't learn about analogies.
thing is, giroux and jake arent getting any older
Holy shit you couldn't even get this much rightthing is, giroux and jake arent getting any older and if the organization actually values frost as their next franchise player and does nothing when they retire, we are in trouble. that's why im saying we have to look at a proven young trade piece to build around, we cant rely on the draft unless we dont make the playoffs, get lucky to get a top 5 pick without tanking which we wont, and it has to be a great draft class not a bad class where we had to draft jvr and nolan patrick type of players.

I think I have received four or five in like three posts. Is that good???

"black-or-white: where two alternative states are presented as the only possibilities, when in fact more possibilities exist."
Those sure jump out on this board.
the fact that half of fanbase wants fletcher/av's head because we lost the second round pretty much says that's all hextall worshipers on here.
How fitting that the person most guilty of this on this board used to live in Texas.
Except you are conflating rhetorical devices and logical arguments.Absolutely agree, especially in this one:
