6 year $90M deal for Zeke with ~half guaranteed

Now, I really hope they give into Dak's $40M demands because I think he's drastically overrated.

He’s very overrated. He’s a solid QB but they’d be idiots to give him anything close to top dollar.

Will he wait for his time or press the issue like Zeke? Will anyone want to wait? Pretty soon you'll see second year players sitting out after big rookie seasons...
I think right now, guys that were drafted have to play three seasons before their deals can be extended or altered in any way. And it's 2 years for UDFA guys.

But yeah, your point is well-taken. I have a hard time blaming the players, though, particularly RBs. They're all an injury away from being done. Gotta maximize your returns up front, as soon as possible. Seems greedy, but if the shoe were on the other foot (and it often is), owners would drop a guy like a ton of bricks. Cutthroat business without the fully-guaranteed contracts.

I don't blame RBs at all for trying to strong arm since they get screwed by the wage scales/the positions lifespan.

That said I wouldn't wan't to put that much cap into one

keeper league, some guy didnt hold onto melvin gordon.....when do you pull the trigger on him and stash him?
I would take it week by week. If there's even a smidge of positive news, grab him. Especially if the news involves a potential trade. I worry with him that he sits out five weeks or whatever, and when he comes back, Ekeler and Jackson are playing really well and he's not even the clear-cut #1.

EDIT: I see the Eagles recently made a trash offer for him.

The Jets games 2-6 are Browns, Pats, Eagles, Boys, and Pats.

Week 1 vs the Bills is a must win. Lose that game and playoffs are out of the question already lol. Need to sweep Buffalo and Miami to have a shot.

Not sure if anyone else watches, but the Giants website actually does a really commendable job of providing media and material for fans.

I make a point to watch all the mic'd up and behind the scenes stuff.

I'll say without fail Schumer continues to give the most boring, milquetoast, rambling post-game locker room speeches. They've had to jump cut through his speeches in every video.

Antonio Brown is a total bozo...what a knucklehead as Charles Barkley would say. Glad I passed him up in both my $$ league drafts...total ass.

So now he thinks it’s a good idea to get into it with Mayock cause he got justifiably fined for his BS antics and confront the teams GM? So now he got himself suspended. What a shit show in Oakland.

You could tell right away something was off with Brown just by watching Hard Knocks every week. The guy is suffering from some sort of disorder...maybe CTE? I dunno but you could barely understand what Antonio was saying and so I started using the closed caption function.

Yeah, I got stuck with him because I used my first two picks on RBs and he was the highest upside WR left on the board. My fantasy football bad luck streak continues.

I had to take Bell as my RB1. I didn't want to, but picking 11th in a 12 team, there wasn't much left for me at RB. I did snag Gurley with my next pick, though, so I'm comfortable with them 1-2.

And yeah, AB is a f***ing clown. I hate Pittsburgh, wish he stayed there. I mean f*** Oakland as well. It will be fun to see Gruden flail for a few years before Bowl Cut decides to finally let him go.

Interesting you mention the CTE, I saw someone commented on an article that AB hasn't been the same since he was knocked out. Guy has no filter + zero ability to process and manage his emotions, its sad to watch.

No question about it...I think I said similar thing in a post the other day.

Not often and in fact very rare that the very 1st game of the season is a “must win” but a loss to the Bills could send season sideways before it really even begins. If Jets can’t figure out a way to be 3-4 by time they finish the Jax game, playoffs wouldn’t even be an option and more than likely a .500 record would be the goal.

And lets be honest, despite some improvements moresoe on the offensive end of things, this Jet defense is going to get blitzkrieged by any solid passing game....just the facts. Until Douglass can truly address the gaping hole in the secondary and the lack of someone on the edge to create pressure on opposing QB’s and that won’t happen until the off season, me personally, I wouldn’t be upset if we ended up .500 and no playoffs because I know it’s next year when playoffs would not only be more possible...it would be expected.

This year is all about Sam taking the next step and bringing some excitement back to Met Life and this franchise not being a joke anymore. I feel reasonably confident that all of this will be achieved.

Playoffs or anything else would be part of the bonus plan.

I wasn’t aware of this article you speak of but I will seek it out for sure.

I just thought it obvious listening to him speak in any of the 5 Hard Knock episodes that AB is definitely suffering from something.

Now whatever it is, it may not be effecting him from a physical standpoint cause he sure seemed as fast and as lethal in the highlights they showed of him but I’d not be shocked whatsoever if it comes out that the reason for all this AB wackiness has something to do with his brain not being in great working order.

I dunno but but Bell at 11th overall is pretty nice value. After the obvious top 4 are gone, I had Bell in my rankings at 6th overall just after Hopkins and just before Chubb. So you getting him at 11 is pretty sweet. Gurley is a swing for the fences but if he stays healthy your gold.

I'm looking now at my $$ leagues snake draft and you and the guy who picked 11th must be cousins or something as he had the same two picks as you....Bell and Gurley.

In comparison I had 3rd overall and took Zeke and than on way back in the 2nd(22nd overall) took Odell and than with 27th overall early in the 3rd round I hitched my wagon to Chris Carson. If he can stay healthy, he and Zeke will make an awesome combo.

I like Bell, but he hasn't played forever and his line is the worst he's ever had. Darnold is still an unknown, too. So it could work out really well, or not very well at all.

Gurley dropped so much in my draft that I couldn't pass up the value. I took him in the 3rd round despite breaking into a sweat at my laptop.

Listen I could be wrong as this is the Jets we are talking about. But for the first time since maybe the mid-80's when Jets had guys like Ken O'Brien, Wesley Walker, Freeman Mcneil, Al Toon, Mikey Shuler and a solid O-line, this Jet team and it's success is going to be driven by the offense NOT the defense.

This if first time Jets have had an offensive minded coach since and pardon me while I grab a barf bag for even mentioning his name but since Rich Kotite back in the mid-90's. Every single Jet coach since than has been a defensive minded guy beginning with Parcells, Groh, Edwards, Mangini, Rex and finally Bowles.

With Gase, this team is going to move the ball and will score points. The talent upgrade on the offensive end is significantly more apparent than on the defensive side of the ball. Back to the point, I can easily see Bell rushing for 1200 or so and catching 75 or so balls for another 5-600 yards as Sam's safety valve. Probably score 10 TD's or so. That my friend is solid #'s for a back and Bell's pedigree leads me to believe that's the kind of year that is in store for him and the Jets.

Our DC Williams is going to need to come up with some schemes that no one has ever seen in order to stop teams. I mean, we do have a solid D-line and we have a couple of nice linebackers especially Mosely and in the backend, we have Adams and Maye if he can stay on the field...that's it.

We are pretty baron on the defensive side and tho we are likely going to give up 24 or more points most game seeing as I've said a ton, our secondary is going to get absolutaly torched, I'm prepared for that and I will embrace the suckage on defense. And that's because for first time in what seems like forever the Jet offense is going to one nasty group to have to deal with and I have no doubt the Jet offense will score over 30 points on numerous occassions.

Be prepared for lots of 31-27 type games which can go either way and we will all have some fun this year here in Jetland. Next year after Douglass fixes the defense and improves the O-line some more, than we will really be a force to be reckoned with.

This year...it's all about Sam, Le'Veon and having some fun and scoring alot of points. Don't know about you but that works for me...lol

I went all in on Murray, David Johnson and Kliff Kingsbury in fantasy. Probably shoulda hedged myself a bit but I feel like they really could put up points and just suck.

Awful game last night, and I think it proved the importance of the Preseason. I know guys think its dumb and don’t want to play in it, but those offenses did not look ready.

Also a QB like Trubisky needs the reps. He’s got talent, but he hasn’t proven that he can just “turn it on.”
