I’d agree that holding Benning to a different standard than what you’d expect from a good GM makes absolutely no sense.

I expect him to make stupid moves so maybe that’s why I don’t get upset but I’m def not shrugging away bad moves or think just because he didn’t get ripped off too bad that it’s acceptable.

Benning and his band of fools has made it acceptable to some for him to be subpar, directionless and a failure. And he’s being applauded for it

Yeah lol - I guess anyone who doesn't join in the Hate Fest is totally enamoured with Benning? Okkkkkkkkk then........... (rather amusing because I can be objective and call a spade a spade - I've been very willing to criticize him over moves he's made).

Sorry to tell you but there are sane and intelligent people out there who think Benning is a decent GM who has been improving at his job. Yes - and while you might question my intelligence by normal society's standards I'm considered at least somewhat intelligent and successful. Shocking I know!

I've explained several times previously all over this board why I think Benning has improved at his job. To further have to do so would be my turn to yell at the wall. I like to think I have better things to do with my time but hey - it's a free world - if you want to continue to do so by all means - carry on.

Yah sorry unless they’re being paid to have this opinion, i wouldn’t call them intelligent.

Yes well I woudn't call people who have a job intelligent as why would you work to get someone else rich? That doesn't mean they aren't smart now does it?

And if you are saying that I guess Aquillini (a billionaire btw) is a complete dumbass.............okkkkkkkkk then. As you were.........

No idea what the hell that first paragraph even means.

In regards to Aquilini
When it comes to sports, he’s a dumbass.

If you think Francesco made all his millions, then all the power to you.

I probably know a lot more about him than you think - I respect success. I tend to put a tinnnnnny bit more validity in people who are at the top of the food chain. It's kind of like my broke brother trying to give me tips on how to run my businesses. I mean it's nice and he does read a lot of business books but there's a huge difference between theory and practice.

But hey - if you want to value the opinion of people who play beer league hockey 2 x a week and spend 3 hours a day on HFB all the power to you now.

He is the child of a rich developer Father.....so if by success you mean the sperm fertilizering your Mother’s egg came from a rich guy then your take sort of makes sense.

There is a log-jam at defence. So I could see Juolevi starting the year in Utica and coming up some point in the year. Also might be in best interest to send Quinn Hughes back to Michigan and sign him when his season is over and bring him in for a few games. Expect Chris Tanev + Ben HuttoN/MDZ to be traded at the deadline.

Sign Tobias Reider 3 years 2.75M AAV
Re-Sign Sven Baertschi 3 years 2.9M AAV

Sven Baertschi - Bo Horvat - Brock Boeser
Tobias Reider - Adam Gaudette - Elias Petterson
Loui Erikkson - Brandon Sutter - Nikolay Goldobin
Markus Granlund - Sam Gagner - Jake Virtanen

Extra : Brendan Gaunce

Alex Edler - Troy Stecher
Ben Hutton - Chris Tanev
Micheal Del Zotto - Erik Gubranson

Extra : Derrick Pouliot / Alex Biega

I'll go after alumni here, heck I have even been known to rip senior alumni like Ron Delorme and Bones Bromley.

But I draw the line at criticizing the boss of bosses. Be careful my brethren.

Actually you almost never criticize Benning. It seems to me like you just defend him against any criticism.

I don't think what you say here is correct considering, and as I've pointed out numerous times, no one has been able to provide any sort of argument that paints Benning in a positive light while using facts and logic. That's been asked numerous times yet not a single person has been able to provide such an argument.

You have made comments several times but those comments have been easily refuted. It's not my fault you choose to ignore those rebuttals.

Further to this, once again, you're twisting what I had previously stated that just because it's expected Benning will do something stupid and overpay for free agents once again doesn't mean we should accept that. If he does this he should be criticized. No one should lower their standards just because we have an idiot in the front office.

Excellent - all in for the Hughes Sweepstakes.

Aquilini deserves a lot of criticism for how stupid he's been these past few years, from interfering with the Gillis regime to hiring a management team full of bumbling idiots and allowing them to have free reign on this team, and then extending Benning when all the evidence pointed to how he should be fired.

I guess it's easy for the idiots to run the asylum when the owner is just as stupid.

Ok I'll leave you to it..........continue on yelling at the wall.........the wall doesn't feel like yelling back any more and I'm not super motivated to prove you wrong or argue as it's all mental masturbation at this point. As you were........
