Sure that works. I hate the Flyers though (childhood friend was a Tocchet fan and loved them and hated the Canucks so since then have actively cheered against them) so if you are a fan I will be actively cheering against them (sorry not sorry).

I have no problem with objectively grading management - thing is soo many people on this board are blinded with fury that all objective reasoning goes out the window. This board is also populated by glass half empty types - which by nature doesn't exactly jell incredibly well with my personality.

You know, you're the second person tonight to tell me they would vote me up if not for the mods revoking that privilege the other being @Jimbo57 .

This seems more common than I would have suspected, and perhaps distributed in a partisan manner no less. Ideological balance is important in moderator teams. Perhaps this is an issue the admins may want to revisit?

Ideologically one group spends most of their time complaining about Benning, which is allowed per board rules. Another group spends most of their time complaining about people who complain about Benning, which generally isn’t.

That might be your answer there.

I tell ya man, it doesn't look good. Not a good look at all, I cannot lie. I personally would not want to be par of a flawed process and would speak up about it probably if it persisted.

*of course conjecture based on the tiniest of samples. Probably nothing.

Umm... there's a group who spends most of their time complaining about people who defend Benning and that's allowed, so why can't a group spend most of their time complaining about people who complain about Benning? As long as it's not personal, it's allowed? But both you and I aren't mods.

On a 1 year deal sure whatever. But he's not really the answer at 2C. I think the best thing is to wait after the original frenzy happens and pickup scrap pieces on discounts like a week in.

I would look at Johnson for the right price, but I would trade quite a bit more for Point. Cirelli would be a good acquisition, should be cheaper than Johnson.

i need you to show me some cheap useful free agents who are tradeable for picks. the fact you reach back to mike comrie trying to revive his career in his home town 8 years ago illustrates the problem.

versteeg is one of the few i can think of in recent years.
 
Riley Sheahan is a better option than Bozak and Nash. He is big, kills penalties, good in the faceoff circle, former 1st round pick and i think he will come cheaper because he was not qualified by Pittsburgh.

they are not done talking. it's another case of not qualifying to avoid arbitration rights.

coincidentally the pens just cleared $5 million in cap space.
 
Funny to see Jack Johnson's contract coming in at $3-3.5M. Less than Gudbranson. Don't get me wrong, both are awful defensemen but I think Johnson is slightly less awful than Gudbranson.

Didn't Linden said that expect the team to be a couple millions under max cap this season?
Maybe Aqualini is setting an interm cap until the team is good again

All the comparables are better or same player as Gudbranson, but for cheaper. Johnson, McNabb, Johns.

It's unreal that Gudbranson got $4MM after missing exactly 50% of games over 2 years.
