I can't imagine they would give him the captaincy for the Carlson hockey games only to remove it right before the WC starts. That just wouldn't make much sense.

My pick would have been Landeskog for sure. But I'm fine with this. Let Lundqvist deal with the media so our best players don't have to do it as much. And I'm sure he is respected among our top players, seeing how he's been around the National team since they were teenagers.

I guess age and routine plays in with Lundqvist getting the A. I am ok with it even if Landeskog would have been my first choice. I hope and guess Grönborg knows what he is doing.

Lundqvist was the captain when we won in 2013, so..

For me it's more the role I see him playing, if he would make the team(he is for sure now but probably not that many minutes on any given night).

You don't simply just give the C to the "Best" player on the team. Hedman isn't even a captain in Tampa. Has nothing to do with his skill.
Lundqvist and Ladeskog are also a lot better players than you obviously think.
