WC: 2017 Team Sweden

The D looked overall underwhelming, but if I had to pick one that stood out it was Klingberg, he was the best at dictate the game and played defense just as well as anyone else on the team, and he finished off with a magic goal.

I was very surprise by how good Rosen and Holm was (espically Rosen), they where just as good as the NHL-stars if not better than most of them, if it was a more normal whc, i wouldnt mind them at all as one d-pair. But hopefully most of the NHL-stars was taking it easy, it felt overall very meh. Hedman biggest strength is maybe when he skates up and force himself through traffic, only McDavid can do that as good as him, but I didnt see much of that in this game.

I serisouly hope we can get away from that thinking that just because they happen to play for the same club-team, they have to play togeheter in the national team. Sometimes that can work, but far from always.

Strålman and Hedman find ways to always be on the ice when there is goal against. I do not put the blame on them at all, but it is intresting and to be honest I do not think they are a good fit, but it has not much do with that.

Matthews didn't go because he wanted a full offseason. Toronto literally can't just say no you can't play. They can recommend it but the cant just say no. Matthews player World champs + world cup + full season + playoffs. Marner has/had mono and he went. Rielly has been dealing with a high ankle sprain all year and was going to go but decided not to after his final medicals were done and docs recommended he not go.

For what it's worth: Kapanen and Nylander live together with Kapanen's GF. His GF posted an Instagram story of Nylander/Kappy at the airport with the caption "bye roomie". So either he's just going home or he is on his way to join the team. I'd expect news today I guess?
