My ideal scenario if the Leafs do retain Carlyle (Black hole for any offensive creativity) is for Nylander to stay and rip up the SHL another year with a better supporting cast than this years, and then put on a display hopefully better than Domi's at the next WJC, with the Swedes replacing their WJ coach.

You should watch Nylander play. The only way to replace Grönborg is to promote him to Tre Kronor head coach duty, he doesn't look like he wants to quit and we never fire coaches at the junior level.

I wonder how this years WJCH has effected Ahos draft projection? Historically that type of player usually will be undrerrated come draftday. Everyone is looking for the next Keith Primeau...

On another note, Lagesson should get more love. He's been solid thoughout the tornament and has a great on-ice poise.

Yes this talentless team, just won their group with a landslide, but off course they all sucks. This talentless team has players like Kempe on the third line, players like R Andersson, Timashov didnt even make the team, that is how talentless this team is.

In the 2000 century I would rank this team as number 4 after 2009, 2010 and 2014, on paper, and I do not think this team are far behind. They are better on paper than the team we actually won with. Next year could be our best ever on paper if we for some reason have access to Nylander than as well, which I think is slim, but hopefully Toronto isnt as a big """" as caps, so they dont even let him go even if they dont play him.

If you want to see talentless swedish U20 team, look at the begining of this century. We could just dream about this team back then.

People here are whining about final losses, serioslouy? About 10 years ago we where playing relegation games, now we are complaing about to many final losses? We have gone from being at slovakia level to being the dominating factor at junior level in 10 years time, not everything can be perfect.

lol, noway haha...

Better than a defence with Brodin? Nemeth, klefbom, claesson?

filip forsberg, zibanejad? rask rakell, collberg?

Brodin is a HUUGE part of Wild's defence and has been for a while and forsberg, well you know about him by now. Nemeth could have had a great season this year in dallas but cut hes wrist, rask is doing well aswell...
William Karlsson is doing ok to as so many others in the NHL.

I have a hard time seing the same future for out current team. I doubt Aho will be any close to a Brodin. And Leafs will sure be happy if Nylander can put up a season like FF does at 20.

Yes I do think that overall this team is better than the 2012 team was THEN. You can not compare what level the 2012 team is now compare to what level 2015 team are now. You have to look at what level they where at when the tournament was played.

F Forsberg for a example was 17 years old then, a big talent for sure, but not yet a star. He would not have made this team.

For some reason people seems to underrated this team very much, even if it is loaded with talent. We have top players like Nylander and the fact that we have player that are first line players in SHL in the third line shows deph

What the future will bring I do not know, but this team is better than the 2012 team on paper before the tournament.

Stats are not everything but to show some comparsion among forwards.

2015
SHL
Nylander 1.00 PPG
V Olofsson (4th liners in this team) 0,53 PPG
Lindblom 0,53 PPG
Kempe 0,5 PPG
Brodecki 0,47 PPG
Wallmark 0,43 PPG
Holmström 0,44 PPG
Lööke 0,23 PPG
A Karlsson 0,14 PPG
Blidh 0,00 PPG PPG

AHL
JDLR 0,17 PPG

2012
SHL
J Larsson 0,73 PPG
Zibaneyad 0,50 PPG
J Sundström 0,22 PPG
M Friberg 0,21 PPG
Thorell 0,14 PPG
J Nordström 0,13 PPG
Boyce 0,07 PPG
Collberg 0,00 PPG

Canadian and american junior leagues
Rakell/Rask/ 1 PPG
Rensfeldt 0,73 PPG

Notice we have players from this kind of leagues this season with far better stats, but they didnt even made this year team.

Allsvenskan
W Karlsson 0,98 PPG
F Forsberg 0,40 PPG

Overall it is a huge difference among forwards statswise and I would say that our d-men are almost our best part on paper this year. Stop underestimate this team.

Hägg, Norell and Englund have really stepped up. Aho and Forsling instead struggled today(on defense). Bergman has been good for most part of the tournament now except in the very beginning. We need them all going next game, can't make mistakes playing for medals.

We're very dependant on Nylander's line to create offense and draw penalties. Wallmark and Kempe are disappointments at EVS.

The thing with Kempe is he is damn near invisible during 5 on 5 play but on the powerplay all he needs is one shot.

Forsling is alright 5-on-5 but absolute gold on the PP.

I actually think this was Kempe's best game. He didn't do much offensively but he back checked hard and used his skating to get out of trouble. This team needs all the speed it can get.

Quiet, but solid game for DLR. I really like his defensive game. Bergman, Hägg and Wallmark really stepped up. Nylander is a force.

Hägg played much simpler with the puck in his own zone today. He has been great blocking shots. I think he wanted revenge for last year's final.

I was more talking about getting the same recognition as Domi has been getting this year. So Nylander this year with many more points

imo just by looking at these boards Nylander has been the most talked about player not on TC (which makes sense because HF is mostly canadians)

Hagg and Lindblom have both looked Ok then?

Hägg had his best game of the tournament against Finland. Was a rock on the PK, first game he didnt fumble the puck at some point in a bad situation. Hoping he continues that way for the rest of the tournament.

Lindblom I believe is leading the tournament in scoring even though that is a bit miss leading as he is more of a passenger on his line. But he knows where to be and he has a good finish.

Hägg hasn't impressed me at all this tournament. I had high hopes of him being a steady part of our D.

His passing game has bees horrific.
His offensive play: non-existent.
His defensive play: lacking. He has a habit of chasing attackers into the corners and ending up on the wrong side of them exposing ice towards the net.

The only thing that he has done really well is blocking shots. i was hoping he'd be a defender in the mold of Edler. Now I see him as the new Jan-Axel Alavaara. Let's hope he doesn't pick up the habit of trashing penalty boxes.

I have not been kind to him this far, but even I has to say that he has been playing good the last two games.

That is more Hägg in the beginning of the tournament. He has stepped up his game, specially in the defensive zone. Was one of the best players in the game against Finland.

I think you can forget about W Nylander next year, most likely he will play for Toronto then, but Timashov is a good replacer.

Forwards
Timashov - Holmström - Lindblom
Lööke - Kempe - Asplund
Grundström - Eriksson Ek - Kovacs
A Karlsson - Ehn - Törnqvist
Ahl

Worth mention, Forsbacka Karlsson, Franzen, Vejdemo, Forsberg, O Lang, Stenlund,

D-Men:

Aho - Lagesson
Kylington - Ollas Mattsson
Forsling - R Andersson
Englund

Worth mention: Lindgren, Larsson, Carlsson, Pettersson, Bouramman, E Johansson,

Goalies
Söderström, Sandström, Källgren

The guy (Nylander) could benefit from having better players around him (NHL) but it was obvious he was not a player a few months ago.

But maybe if he gets Lindblom as a winger!?

He should stay and win a few WC and be named best player outside the NHL before he joins.

The 96 bunch is the best we've had for a while.
