Yes that is correct, with Forsberg, Lindholm and Burakovsky it would maybe have been up to 5 . But this year we had JDLR (and "Hägg") from NA.

Plus some, NA players that was available like, Timashov, Andersson and Lindberg didnt even make the team, even though they have good stats and have big roles there and Timashov looks like he will break Burakovskys swedish records in the canadian junior leagues (even if he makes more assist than goals compare to Burakovsky). But this players where still not consider to be good enough to even make this team, and I do not get the feeling that they even where close. That shows deep and Grönborg is responsible for the team building.

I wouldn't compare JDLR and Hägg with the other four though, since they are both developing into "defense first" players.

Timashov should have been on the team instead of Brodecki/Olofsson imo. Andersson maybe, defence was quite weak, but as was spoken in the Swedish roster threads before the tournament, there were quite a few defensemen that could have made the team with the same results as the chosen squad. Overall, Sweden has developed a lot of depth in these generations on defense, but lacks the really high quality tops of a few years ago (e.g. Hedman, Karlsson, OEL, Larsson, Brodin, Klefbom (with the possible exception of Kylington)).

I have seen Timashov a lot and he's nowhere near Burakovsky. He's just another PP-specialist that would disappear against better teams.

Andersson didn't stand out at all at the U18's last spring. Lindberg would have made my team, but he wouldn't have been a difference maker. Truth is, there just wasn't a lot of good players available this year

Wallmark played in the third line last year, he played in the third line this year also, and he is a far more impact player this year in SHL then he was last year. Why do you make up excuses for all players that we have this year that have good stats.

It is one thing to say this isnt the best team we ever had base on the fact that we didnt won, but it is just plain weird to say that we didnt have access to a lot of good players when we have had access to by far the best players ever if you look at the stats.

Btw I have also seen a a lot of Timashov, and he is dominating in that league. So I have to disagree, even if his size could be a problem when it comes to NHL later, but at junior level he is a impact player.

Maybe but they should at least be mentions as impact players, since they are close to NHL. What stats JDLR would have in SHL I do not know. Either way we had statswise a better team this year even if you including Forsberg and Lindholm.

You are including Klefbom as top d-men but do not see Aho as a top d-men? I think you are being nostalgic now. ;)

We have many top d-men in the 96 and 97 generation, Aho, Andersson, Kylington, Forsling, Lindgren (to young for this tournament), and so on. There is not shortage there exactly.

But I do agree that the 2010 was better.

Last year however we didnt have any since H Lindholm didnt play, or do you think we had better d-men last year?

Klefbom was a top defender at the junior level in 2012.

The defence was quite equal in terms of skill as last year's group. Maybe it was better this year, but the margin between the forward groups and goaltenders was much greater (in favour of last year).

Klefbom was very good, but what isnt Aho, Kylington, Andersson etc? He was no Aho at least.

We didnt have any d-men that stand out last year, this year we had Aho and Forsling. Im actually scared that we will lose Aho to next year, he is fairly small but other than that he has the whole package.

Here it comes again, much better, not just little better but much better? Can you explain why? As I said before statswise we have a better team this year, so that you guys saying last years forwards was much better, do come accross as a little weird. I do certainly not say that you should only look at stats, but you seem to ignore it completely.

But even if you do not look at the stats, look at how they where played. Last year, JDLR was in the first line, this year 2th line, Wallmark last year third line this year third line and he is far better this year in SHL. Why didnt Wallmark move up in the hierarchy when he had become a much better player in SHL this year, if now this year is much worse?

Wallmark was by all intents and purposes on the second line this year, while JDLR was on the third line (or rather, the defensive line). The reason JDLR was moved down was because he was the best defensive player we had.

Wallmark was suppressed last year by two much superior centers (Lindholm and Wennberg). It is inconclusive to say how well Lindholm and Wennberg would have done in the SHL compared to Nylander, but being older I'd wager they would be at least as impressive. Forsberg was much better than any player on the team this year on both ends of the ice, and a top player in his age group across all teams (evident by his two-time appearance in the All-star team). The fact that Forsberg wasn't playing in NHL last year seems to stem from Trotz style of fostering prospects rather than being a testament to his skill level last year. Burakovsky was better than any winger this year, with the exception of Nylander. Even a player like Collberg would have been a top three forward on this team, even though he seemed to regress for every WJC he entered.

And the goalies were not even close, by eye-test or stats. Söderström, while playing well in the tournament, is an average goalie prospect. Dansk is a superior prospect, was a superior player at the same age, and performed better in the tournament setting.

You know, there's a reason why nobody believed in this team in the first place.
