I have really bad feeling. 6-1 USA.

Don't understand the pp units at all.

Put those something like:

Puljujärvi-Hintz-Rantanen
Lyytinen-Ilvonen

Kapanen-Mustonen-Björninen
Honka-Lehkonen

Yeah. No need to get cute. I can understand they don't have all the offensive d-men they'd like, but they should still try and find four that are decent enough to man the blueline.

My picks would be Honka, Lyytinen, Ilvonen and Lintuniemi. Apart from them, put lines 1-2 out there. And if someone seems to be having an off night, sub him with Puljujärvi.

I thought Honka and Kapanen were Finland's best players. Honka is going to be pretty good when he gets to Dallas.

Wasn't too impressed with Kapanen's game today to be honest. Thought he got better as the game went along but overall I didn't think he had a big impact on the game.

Best player was Lehkonen for me. I love this kid. I can see why he's wearing the C this year. He showed incredible hockey sense today.

He's a total puck-hound. So good at digging for loose pucks, instantly jumping on USA's defense and forcing turnovers, drew two penalties because of his effort in puck battles, and made some big plays on the penalty kill including flat out saving a goal by getting his stick in the lane in what was an open net for a US player. And he doesn't look like he's just a checker. He showed some skill with the puck too.

Overall thought Lehkonen, Honka, and Husso were Finland's best players today.

Nice to hear that as a habs fan. Is size an issue with him ?

It was a pretty even game today, I'm not worried about the goaltending for one bit. Hopefully Kapanen has a better game tomorrow. Finland takes the Slovaks down tomorrow.

Yeah, should look pretty
solid.

Rantanen - Saarela - Kapanen
XXX - Hintz - Laine
Aho - Kalapudas - Puljujärvi
XXX - Nättinen - XXX

Lehkonen looks like Brendan Gallagher to me, he won every puck battle against USA, his compete level is off the charts, Kapanen should take notice.....

Aho,Kalapudas,Puljujärvi,Hintz,Rantanen,Niku and Kapanen. Saarela, Tuulola and Lammikko too who were injured/cut.

It would be nice if Kapanen had more important games to play a year from now. Doesn't look likely though.

Jortikka called out somebody on the first line about his effort:http://www.iltasanomat.fi/jaakiekko/art-1419643197152.html

Clearly Kapanen. However, if Jortsu took notice why send him as the third shooter? Bad message to reward him.

Kapanen really annoyed me, standing still with his back straightened when he didn't have the puck and then when having the puck, trying some half-assed move and losing the puck.

I can't get over that one god awful PP where USA controlled the game... I don't agree with four forwards in the second unit at least, seemed like a liability.

Still, overall a good game for us, all things considered.

He was sent because Kapanen has been pretty good in shootouts. You don't "bench" your shooters just because they had a bad game. Also dial down with the Kapanen bashing, I remember when a guy named Ristolainen wasn't that good in the opening games.

This. SO is a world of its own, and if you have a good shooter who's got the tricks, you use him despite him having a bad game.

However, I don't think it's "bashing" if people call him out for having a bad game otherwise. Calling him garbage and saying he should be benched based on one game would be overreacting. But nobody's done that, simply given him crap for having an off night. I think it's in everyone's best interests that he picks it up from here.

Yeah it was meant for these kind of comments. I'm a big fan of Kapanen but even i was irritated how phlegmatic he looked.
