NJ Hammerhead Bats!
The last few seasons Tedenby played with some of the best players on the Devils and still stunk.
Teddy had a cup o' joe last season (4 games), and his hip was injured in game 1.

Gavrus is no longer a prospect, in my opinion. He's KHL bound now and I doubt we hear from him again.
As of right now, we don't. The depth is complete disaster. Now, that obviously can/will change assuming Brunner and MAYBE Raymond sign. All we've done so far is trade Kovy and Clarkson for Ryder, Clowe, and Olesz. That ain't gonna work. They'll be ok in the long run but its murky right now.
2x3 would be wonderful.

Damien Brunner is a Devil, per Nick Barlotta. $3 million per year, 1-2 years. Waiting for confirmation from NJD but sounds like its done.

Devils are also "testing waters" on Dion Phaneuf, per Nick Barlotta. No pieces being talked about yet.
can we confirm this with link yet?
Also, intriguing news here:
Bringing in Phaneuf would make NJD worlds better than last year. That would be amazing
Oh I totally agree with you but it does hinge on bringing in at least 1 more body which I assume will be Brunner tomorrow. Were still going to be one of the deepest squads in league and as long as the forecheck that we saw in 2012 comes back, they'll be fine. I really have no clue what kind of system they were rolling with last year but it was a mess and yes playing Kovy an ungodly amount of minutes was always a pet peeve of mine when it comes to Deboer. Assuming guys get back there normal production and the new guys do there career norms, we'll be a playoff team. It's going to work and it is going work better than it has the last 2 of 3 seasons.
If we made no changes at all simply disturbing Kovalchuk's minutes would improve this team...sorry, I know no one wants to hear it, and I know you all had fun watching him but 30 or so goals playing 26+ minutes a night is pure garbage. That was literary playing a season and half every year and only producing average results.
Two guys playing 15 minutes a night scoring 15 to 20 goals is better production. Spread that through 3 lines and your team is far stronger. People are going to be surprised by how much BETTER the devils are going to be next season.
More production from lines 1 through 3 are almost certain with kovalchuk gone.

Im very much worried about next year with Brunner + Raymond if thats true. Look at how many new faces we are adding into our roster if this is the case:
Schneider
Ryder
Clowe
Raymond
Brunner
Oslev
Add the fact we are projecting Josefson to play, Tallinder is gone, Hedberg (in the locker room) gone... that is a TON of turnover. turnover generally leads to slow starts, and I dont know if thats something we could survive and make the playoffs with.

We don't need Raymond. **** him.
. If you take 26 minutes a night and spread that out through your top 9 I'm saying the added minutes to other players will equal or surpass Kovalchuk's rather lackluster production....you are essentially talking 3 extra goals per player with those minutes and power play time. That is a relatively easy task. The devils don't improve at all from losing Kovalchuk. He played a lot of minutes because him being tired was better than half our team fully rested. Our team would be SIGNIFICANTLY better with Kovy v without Kovy (including whoever is his replacement).
I do think the deal with Brunner is done, seems like all the others where Lou had it done well before it was announced. Still that guy is a nobody, he is just trying to jump the gun so he can look like he has "sources"
Give me a source either that Swiss beat writer or something and then I'll buy it.
Henrique would have to pass all of Patty's numbers as a Devil to get retired number.
Marty and Patty are the next two numbers up and then the banner shop is getting closed up for a long time. It is going to take someone really special to have a banner go up after Patty. Love Henrique to death, and I do expect him to become a star, but that is asking a lot.

You have distributed scoring, you don't have to rely on one player to produce a significant portion of offense, you don't have to worry about that player being shutdown or having a bad night....all that makes a team MUCH BETTER.
