Has William Moore really fallen that far down? Wasn't he in discussions a year ago for exceptional status?

I still have him at 2. However, I could be convinced to move him down a few spots. I don't think I'd ever go as low as 9, but the Moore Martin Hopkins Griffin Schaefer group is extremely close, and I wouldn't question someone putting them in almost any order.

I watched the ETA showcase this weekend. A bunch of great games.

Griffin is such a good skater. His skill set should translate well at the next level. I also really liked Royston and Crawford from YSE two big power forwards.

Donahue and Maki were the two best goalies both with decent size and good athletes also like Rubino’s compete level.

The Peterborough line of McFadden, Avery and Harmon although smaller stature actually play quite physical in the games I saw. They had the two toughest match ups this weekend.

I also liked Elliot from Whitby though he was great at creating his own chances in the o zone because of his foot speed and agility. Boyle had a pretty spectacular penalty kill vs NCP as well killed almost two minutes by himself in a 6 on 4.

Ncp had Begley and Faribarn both good defenders who play well together.

Watched some of first practice for team Ontario U16’s today. Roobroek, Moore and Martin looked solid on a line together.

Agree with this - Roobroeck is in a league of his own then there are a handful of kids in contention for #2.
Personally, as of late - Moore has been playing MUCH better and closer to the one that applied for ES last season.

Still can’t believe Griffin and Kratzin are not on that roster… Griffin scored his 50th of the year Saturday

They’re missing the ETA and the likely GTHL leading scorers. Begs the question of what the real agenda was in putting this team together.

I’ve watched both this year alot and spoken to numerous scouts and all agree they have been among the two best players in the age group all season long.

I am happy to see Nesbitt getting more appreciate these days. With his size and offensive abilities he kind of reminds me of Cole Beaudin of last years draft.

Believe it has already been mentioned here - GM of the team is more familiar with the HEO kids being from Ottawa so likely brought more of them because of it.
third of the roster is from the region meanwhile it is a down year for Ottawa

I don't like self-promoting, but I figured this was worth the share. Free episode breaking down all the teams at the Canada winter games. Going to be a fun week of hockey!

Jordan surprised you only talked about Ontario goaltending. Gave us no clue about the others. Also if you admit you don't know much about goaltending...why not ask one of your peers before the show?
I thought your group also focused too much on individuals and not lines and defensive pairs.
It's a team sport.

Unfortunately, we don't have anyone on the team who scouts goalies at the moment and it's not in our scope. I was mostly giving these two goalies a shoutout, as I've seen them steal games, but I personally don't have the technical knowledge to break down goaltenders and explain the ins and outs of their playstyles. I would have been doing them a disservice by explaining their game, but I know they deserved recognition.

I would have loved to break down lines and pairs, but we only found out all of the lines for the teams today, so that was tough to do, as the show was recorded a few weeks ago. Thanks for giving it a listen and for the feedback!

Ontario beats BC 7-4 in their Canada Winter Games opener. Brady Martin (2G/1A), Ryan Roobroeck (1G/2A), and William Moore (3A) all had big nights
Carson Cameron was very impressive in my opinion, He has flown under my radar this year since I don’t find myself watching any Wolves games but I really liked what I saw yesterday.

Cameron is an elite skater. He runs the Wolves breakout. When he is on he is very good. I have watched him a bunch this year. He should be a first rounder IMO. Big, strong, right handed defenders don’t grow on trees. His hockey sense is also very impressive.
