After watching many tournaments and league games across Ontario here is my top 20 for 2023 OHL Draft not including USA players due to unknown choice of OHL/NCAA.

Roobroek
Moore
B. Martin
Schaefer
Hopkins
Stark
Addy
Katzin
Romano
Griffin
Beauchsene
Weir
Hull
Nesbitt
Moses
Taylor
J Martin
Dragusica
Rai
Snelgrove
I would swap Stark and Katzin, and Addy and Romano, consider moving Hull down due to competition level of Ottawa league, Reid would replace Rai and move higher and Dragusica would move down. The first round has 22 picks in it, so I would consider adding two of McFadden/Obrien/Cameron/Ivankovic to the list. I haven’t watched Reid as much as others, but the reports are excellent.

I could nitpick things, but you're not too far off from where I am. Jacob Cloutier is easy to miss, but he's worth a look for a top 20. Tanner Lam is also someone I adore that in my eyes deserves to be selected in Round 1.

I appreciate your placement of Beauchsene. I've struggled with how high to place him, but I can see the draw to him super high.

I didn't inclue USA possibilities due to unknown commit status and should have mentioned that includes the Canadian boys eligible down there. Cloutier and Reid would definitely be in that mix for my top 20.

Lam super skilled and wheels but have concerns about compete and play away from puck is an area to improve. Like one of his teammates projection a little better, Smith.

Had Cameron right in there too and likely rising for me down the stretch.

Love the insights and that everyone has different rankings for different reasons is great. Will list some sleepers later on in season. Need to circle back on some players who I was unaware of who really impacted games and were difference makers.

Alright - here is my updated top-40.

I decided to inlude some American kids who are eligible for the OHL draft, whether they will or won't report I didn't take into consideration. All that matters is who is the most talented. The American kids I left with a flag beside their names to make it easier.

Ryan Roobroeck is the clear #1 for this draft. If he isn't selected #1 - it is because he won't report to the team making the first selection.

Matt Schaefer reminds me of Jamie Drysdale in the OHL and I expect him to be the first defender off the board. Quite frankly it isn't close - he is the best defender for this draft.

Jack Ivankovic is one of the better goaltending talents in recent OHL draft history. He should be the first goalie off the board and could very well be a first-round pick.

Were do you see Charlton Trethewey ranked?
Probably should be on the list somewhere - for sure within the next 20 picks or so.

I have only caught 2 games of the ceasers this year and admittedly was zeroing in on the forwards for those games. Morin, Janz, Horcoff, Jardine etc.. had my attention throughout.

I‘m going to for sure go back and keep an eye on some of the defence - viewing out of Germany it’s difficult to find access to some of these games so my viewing on a lot of these kids is rather limited.

I have mostly watched OMHA games this year and this year there is a lot of solid teams coming from the OMHA. You guys named most of the top kids coming from the league IMO.

There a few others might be worth an add.

YSE - griffin, Royston, brown, signh, potvin
COW - Cameron, Wilson, Goble, Parrish, Carroll
Peterborough - McFadden, Avery and most of there D man are solid
Barrie - Jackson, cirone, Hawery (2008), Brunning

I also like Ajax’s captain can’t remember his last name I only have 2 viewings on him so far
He’s a good player on an average team.

Whitby - Edwards there goalie is very very good. They have a few forwards as well I could see transferring there skill set to the next level.

After that some of the teams outside the top 5 have some talent too, I am looking forward to the showcase weekend in a few weeks to get some more viewings on those teams.

LJ Mooney is one of my favourite players to watch in this age group. Will he go to the OHL?
NHL draft for 2007 born will be fantastic. Could anyone comment where they think Anton Frondell or Filip Ekberg would be drafted if they were eligible for this OHL draft?

Mooney is what seems like a guaranteed lock to head to the US program out of a really strong 2007 crop for Americans forward-wise. #1 wouldn't be out of the question if you know he would report. All signs show to follow his cousins Logan Cooley's footsteps of playing for the program.

Re: Mooney - as Postulates stated above he’s not coming OHL so he probably won’t go until later in the draft for the “You never know scenario” like most American kids as talented as him.

It‘s funny - most in this prospect section probably don’t even know who those Swedish kids are, much less seen them play. I have though. Ekberg, given he is producing against U20 kids already would be in contention with William Moore for the second overall selection In my opinion.
Frondell I would say he‘d be in the 5-7 range, probably after Tyler Hopkins but in between Matheus Stark.

Would you say Moore probably used Selects as a measuring tool for himself instead of having actual thoughts on committing to US eligibility?

I think the thoughts are there.
If he is unhappy with whoever selects him - I wouldn’t at all be surprised if he ended up with the Chicago Steel, especially given how successful they have been in recent years at developing talent.

He's dual, so he would be eligible for the USNTDP.

Thank you, this makes sense given what I have seen so far.
Masun Fleece, Nicolas Whitehead & Jacob Faith are several other 2007 born Americans that have high potential.

Another player who has stood out that I have never seen mentioned is Peter Fagan from Don Mills Flyers in the GTHL.

Fleece is from California - so he is WHL draft eligible, I believe his rights are held by the Vancouver Giants.

Whitehead is from Florida - he qualifys for the OHL draft I believe but I haven‘t seen him
play, yet to comment on him.

Jacob Faith is from Minnesota - Minnesota born players are WHL Draft eligible.

Any thoughts on Martin's linemate in Waterloo, Gerber, also putting up big points?
Yeah - I was talking to someone the other day about him.

I haven’t seen too much of him - not enough to form a confident opinion/projection - but I was told he has pro aspects to his game and that he’s the type of kid that will be a captian in junior one day.

From what I’ve seen, he gives his all for his team and can play whatever role you‘d want. He can score, he can kill penalties, he will be the first forward on the back check. it’ll be interesting to see where he goes. I’ll need to get another viewing or two before I’m able to get an accurate assessment on upside and a better understanding of his game.

Where can I find GTHL stats.
I heard that they don’t publicize it because of crazy parents, is this true?
