I wanted Fabbro over McAvoy. Not 100% sure if I posted it on this site or not but it's definitely apart of my digital footprint.
Don't feel too bad - Jake Bean was my guy in the 2016 draft. I had a meltdown when Carolina took him at #13 - one spot ahead of the Bruins. I was so mad I missed the announcement of the McAvoy pick at #14. :ha:

Idk if I ever posted it here, but at one point I thought Olli Maatta was going to be one of the top defensemen in the league, at least offensively. He had some flashes early in his career that looked like he could really develop into a top guy.

Granted, he had some various other things going on that didn’t help his development, but it just turned out to be an awful take.
A lot of people had this opinion after Maatta’s rookie season and I think it was justified. His health detailed his career in my opinion.

Too many to count.

I was really high on Marek Zagrapan back in the day and thought that he should have been drafted before Kopitar in 2005 (though I liked Kopitar, but I had Zagrapan in my top 10). I also really liked Bourret from that draft - if he had taken his conditioning more seriously I think he could have been a star. He had 50 points in 78GP as a teenage rookie in the AHL, and then just declined steadily from there.

I thought Tage Thompson was just a lanky PP merchant who would never be much more than a 20 goal guy who didn’t bring much 5-on-5. Was thrilled he was the prospect in the ROR deal and not Thomas or Kyrou. Whoops!

The same. In hindsight, had we thought otherwise, maybe we don’t trade him + for ROR and win the Cup.

Bring wrong and having it backfire to win a Cup is the most Bluesiest thing lol.

I am stupid so I have a bunch.

- I love him still but after Kulemin had his 30 goal season, I beat the drum that he had more value than Phil Kessel.
- thought Pietrangelo would start declining hard after going to Vegas
- Aho was gonna be nothing but a decent two-way third liner
- Ovy's goal scoring would regress by now
- Stamkos is overrated
- Please make me stop.

Brady Tkachuck is infinitely better than Mitch Marner...

Just kidding Mitch is vastly overrated.

I guess it's that the West is a weak conference in 2023.

Hella premier teams in it

Lately it was the Tkachuk/Huberdeau trade where I thought Huberdeau was better than Tkachuk and got Weegar on top of that. I screamed steal !!! Still early though Huberdeau could bounce back.

Kudos to that Panthers fan that went on the 118 pages trade thread to laugh emoji these bad takes. I admire that dedication

I thought Blandisi was going to be a top 6 forward . I’m sure I have a lot of bad takes but that’s one off the top of my head .
I also thought the Bruins were going to miss or squeak into a playoff spot last year because if the injuries they had at the start of the season . Not as bad but I thought my Devils would be fighting for a WC spot and just miss the playoffs last year . But I somewhat thought if they got decent goaltending they would be an ok team , middle of the pack .

Hated Draisaitl being picked over Bennet, thought he was going to bust.

Yeah, im never going to be gm,.
I posted that I thought Draisaitl was going to be a cross between Malkin and Thornton and got roasted but then I also posted that I thought Reinhart will be the next Weber so it all balances out.

Haven’t read all five pages so not sure if anyone else responded but I actually don’t think this was an awful take. He looked like a star in the making but I think injuries really took their toll on him if I recall correctly?

Not on this site, but after his first year in Detroit, I was very pissed that Corey Pronman had the nerve to underrate Dennis Cholowski as a 4/5 defenseman if everything pans out.

... Maybe Corey meant 4/5 on an AHL team?
