WJC Group A: Dec 28 GDT - USA vs. Finland

Much better? Finland has been the better team 5 on 5, especially in the first period. But still they got all the penalties.

U.S is getting this one handed to them. I also think they possibly could have taken this one without the added help, but that is the game I would have wanted to see. Not this. Finland got served by Canada, that was a good example of a team winning on their own, being the better team. This game is definitely not the same. A very hard fought, even match...unfortunately one guy out there is not up to the challenge.

I'm a US fan first and a Russian fan second (since I AM Russian).

Russia's team this year is not good. All based around Malkin. I'm not liking their chances overall.

EDIT: 6-3 US. Well, atleast it's a Ducks prospect who gets this goal giftwrapped by ref.
 
That kinda slash happens about 60 times every game.

This just has to be the worst refereeing that I've ever have to witness.

prescription: I think your problem is the same as the refs. You were thinking before the game that this would be the beating of a lifetime and had your mind set on "USA is the better team, they will win" and that makes you deny the fact that it has been a very equal matchup without the ridiculous reffing.

USA has tons of skill and they are showing it in scoring goals. They will be much better against Canada. This ref should not get any more games. He is not worth it, thats the bottom line.

Mediocre as hell. They seemed asleep for most of the game and let the Finns walk all over them for a bit.

Even with all the penalties they haven't put home many chances. Hit a few posts, also. They definately need to work on the powerplay, though. That's for sure.

I am not watching the game but by the sounds of it the ref sucks in this one too. It's about time the IIHF starts getting better refs to these tournaments. Some of these guys are brutal and cost teams games and make potientally good games brutal to watch.

i guess finland just couldn't fight through adversity and take advantage of a team playing poorly. oh well. hopefully this will get the usa to realize they can't just show up and win games in a tournament like this (although they did tonight) and they will start to play the hockey they are capable of playing

It's weird both USA and Canada had poor games tonight.
