It's not like he is reffing well for either side, but most of the time USA gets a powerplay, but when finland does, it's quickly fixed to a 4 on 4 by the ref. Also, when finland was up, he just HAD to get the game at least tied....this could be a considerably different game if Finland did not have to spend most of 1st period using their PK players all the time. The game could have easily been 3-0 in the second period without the flood of insane calls in the first. Now THAT would have been challenging for the U.S.

But yeah, there have been crap calls on both sides.

USA sure did not bring their A-game in tonight. Ref however had this game all figured out before it started. I am sure team USA is amazing and all, but they would not lead this one on their own right at the moment, if there was a ref that actually was calling the game, not the hype and rankings before the game.

In the 1st period Finland got severely shafted by the ref - deny that and you might just stop watching the game altogether, it was so obvious. Several non-calls against US and and 3 completely bogus calls against Finland.

Look. USA is winning because they are the better team. Not because of some "fix" or some other crap that anti-US people can think of.

And of story.
 
The Swedish ref has been a total joke. Too bad I'm not laughing.

So far Fins been better five on five. Efficient scoring by States though.

I defiantely think that Finland got the raw end but it has seemed to even out to BOTH teams getting crap calls against them, which is more acceptable yet still frustrating. If you check one of my posts waaaay back I mention that I think that the reffing is definately bad for Finland in the first period. Now, it's evened out a lot more. Bad calls on both sides.

We're WATCHING the game so we don't have to rely on few homer announcers.

And that's what's important. The US has been relaxing for most of the game but they are still playing much better than the Finns, who are arguably the 3rd best team in this tournament (behind the US and Canada -- Russia is severely overrated IMO).

How about you stop making claims based on what announcers say?? It would do wonders to your credibility if you were actually able to see them yourself.

I'm willing to bet that if you saw the 3 penalties in the first period against Finland you would admit that they were all complete BS.

And I'm willing to bet that a fair amount of penalties against the US were for hitting too hard and all that other international crap.

sorry to barge in on these discussions but can someone tell me the score... from what i gather the USA is winning by a few???
 
Man, this is getting beyond ridiculous!

I don't think the ref has the slightest idea what a holding penalty is.

I'm willing to bet that you're rooting against the US and obviously have no credibility, either. Lord KNOWS I am biased for my country. You are extremely biased against the US, so you have as little credibility as I do in this argument.
