People say he sucks because of one bad play, and one bad game. If Kessel gives the puck away and the Fins score, will everyone say Kessel sucks?

Hahahahaha, okay.

I'm a big Ryan fan since he's from New Jersey and so am I. That's huge to me to see another New Jersian in the NHL outside of Mara and Dowd.

Way to assume and make yourself look reallllll smart.

It's not just him, it seems like as a group they are off tonight.
 
Finland giving the U.S. all they can handle tonight. Not surprised, as they work very hard and are getting good goaltending. U.S. not capitalizing on all their chances either. I'd love to be a fly on the wall in the U.S. dressing room and hear what Walt Kyle has to say. The U.S. is better than this. Full marks to the Finns though.
 
This is what you get when a swedish ref is doing a game with Finland playing, 2 of the US goals are direct results of EXTREMELY weak calls, former finnish U20 coach is commenting the game and even he (extremely reserved guy) basicly said that this ref is brutal.

EDIT: And another penalty, my god, this ref is doing his best to hand the game to USA!

US calls are just as brutal. What's your point?
 
Interesting. Two of the bigger pariahs so far (Ryan & Wheeler) have been key contributors tonight. Schremp doing some nice work with those two players.

Are they? A Finn got called for holding the stick when the US kid was hooking him. :shakehead

And Seitsonen didn't even touch the US kid when he got called for tripping.

In all US calls there's been at least some visible reason behind them...
 
I hope to god the refs let the US and Canada play some good hockey. But that might be too much too ask!

All Wheeler did was check someone and he got called.

There are brutal calls on both sides.

Hell they are, the 1st period the ref missed several clear US penalties while giving phantom penalties to Finland.

2nd period has been more even, now the calls are better but still the reffing is far from consistant.

Hahaha, okay. So the Jack Johnson "penalty" 22 seconds in was some amazing call? Seriously, the penalties have sucked for both sides. Try and realize that.

They were neutral at first, but after the ref started to decide the game for the US (when finland went up 2-0 and the garbage calls started), they started booing and cheering for the finns. Especially after that holding the stick call that got the U.S a 5 on 3 pp.

Good reactions by canadian audience, the first period reffing was one of the worst, most one sided performances I have seen in years. Other than that, a nice tight game. If the ref would let the teams decide this themselves, it would be a close call.
 
Okay, we get it the only reason Finland is losing is because of the refs. :shakehead

I wonder what the record is for 5on5 hockey in this tourney. This is really sad :rant:
