These early games have really solidified the notion in my mind that Lambert should be playing somewhere else than with JYP next season. If I draft him, I put some pressure on him to spend 22-23 with the Saskatoon Blades or at least to be get a transfert to another team. There's an offensive potential that could really trive in the right environment.

He's not the only one.

Yurov, Jiricek, Nemec & Mesar all need new teams next year too.

Hopefully he won’t be sidelined for a long period and will resume play Czech league.

I’m starting to be in a zone where if it’s not Jiricek, I wouldn’t pick any other defensemen with that top pick. I like Nemec poise and puck movement abilities, but if it’s not Jiricek total package I rather see the team go for a forward.

And does Lambert when it’s not on the rush worries you in any way ?

He forces plays when it doesnt go like he wants and he dislikes when you play him physical, thats why I see some similarities with a kid like William Nylander.

It's a British football / soccer term, denotes nastiness

Oh yeah, he's nasty. He was ok in this game, which is fine for a 17-year-old D playing in his 1st WJC game. He's a pretty powerful skater when he wants to go. And, has a big time shot.

He'll play in his second consecutive u18s in 2022, so he's young.

Think he could sneak into late 1st, but is likely a 2nd rounder.

Good opportunity to see how he grows between last u18s, WJC & next u18s.

Simontaival is a guy I have a hard time evaluating. Has some tools but I just don't see it translate in the NHL.

I really love that right side defense for the Fins. Neimela Heimosalmi Puutio. All good puck movers. Lambert is having a very good start so far that speed and those hands are special.

Looking at Czech now... Just want to see Mysak progress. He's a bit too quiet.

He didn't disappoint or look out of place playing the right side and then to end the game, being the net front presence with the extra attacker.

Don't expect much from Mysak in this tournament. Every time he plays for Czechia, he devotes himself too far to the defensive side of the puck.

Mysak looks the part but doesn't play the part. Clearly the type of guy that needs to use every tool in his toolbox and what separates AHL'er to NHL'ers are the ones that can. We will see in the future where he fits.

I missed Russia-Switzerland. Did anything eventful happen? How did Bichsel and Yurov look?

Germany takes 1-0 lead. Wow!

I was going to write that Svozil looks impressive so far and then...not...lol

Role player, nothing more. I see him as Lehks 2.0

Bichsel looks like your typical tall, good skating defenseman with no offense.

Yurov had 2 points that were kinda lucky, stayed on the perimeter and only made the plays directly in front of him.

Very flukey goal by Mysak just now. Germany has had bad breaks on 3 of 4 goals against this tournament vs Finland and Czechia.
