Prospect Info: WJC 2022 part 2: Picking Back Up In August

For sure. Nice to see Germany get the OT win. They could have easily tied or beat Finland yesterday if the bounces went their way.

Russia and Czechia are in rapid decline vs. Germany/Swiss, results after results show Germany is climbing their way in the world rankings (despite having no A-tier prospect this year). It's amazing to see and a big change in the very stable world of hockey.

I was looking at Russia vs. the Swiss and that game was way too close too for the Russians.

Servac Petrovsky doesn't get as much press as some of his countryman but I like him quite a bit for next draft. He's a good skater and he's got a lot of pace to his game. Pretty good hands as well.

I think his movement spectrum is spectacular, if only he had a better vision.
He's super smooth. A bit like Letang, he doesn't seem to be working hard at all yet he's everywhere on the ice in a hurry. The vision is a bit lacking though, he doesn't try to do a whole lot. He reads the ice really well on the other hand, he's always where he needs to be.

Russia-Switzerland was the first game I missed as I was at the rink.

Dvorsky again in the right spot. The kid is going to be stunning with a bit more maturation.

Rosen with his best attempt at Raymond impersonation.

Dvorsky looking very strong. The 2023 top 5 will be epic.

Starting to think of Slafkovsky with Caufield.
Me too! I’ve really liked Slafkovsky in this tournament, it’s rare for a guy that big to handle the puck like that, and he has good vision as well. I wouldn’t be upset at all if the Habs ended up drafting him

FFS don't let Holtz shoot, his shot is like a flaming fireball of death. Wondering how Holtz will be able to handle Canada's 3rd-4th line however, no more physical advantage.

Strong period for Slovakia despite being down 1-0. They had the puck most of the period. Nemec needs to stay out of the box.

Demek took both penalties. He’s a drafted player who is really useful when we have possession in the o zone and is a good specialty teams player but his weaker skating causes him to take some dumb penalties.

Demek...yes! Oops! #19...not #17.

That was an excellent period by Slovakia. Both Slafkovsky and Nemec were outstanding. Both playing much better than they did in 1st game.

Petrovsky is going to climb fast after this performance. He was excellent against US and is playing just as well tonight. Plays in Owen Sound (OHL) has 20 points in 25 games.

Dvorsky is like a Slovakian Toews. Two-way force.
