I still think Canada 2 is an option.Tournament organizers have said that there is a contingency plan for an eight team tournament should a couple of teams drop out. I do wonder what the plan is if it’s just the one team though.
I doubt that's being seriously considered to be honest.I still think Canada 2 is an option.
If they flew 10 players into Edmonton, tomorrow, they'd be available by Christmas. Would Canada 2 be at a huge disadvantage? Yup, but we'd still have a full tournament.I doubt that's being seriously considered to be honest.
And at this point, that would involve bringing new players into the bubble.
Perhaps, but I wonder if a more likely option would be just to take the four remaining teams and make them pair off to give each team that extra game. Simple and logical.I still think Canada 2 is an option.
I like my idea better.Perhaps, but I wonder if a more likely option would be just to take the four remaining teams and make them pair off to give each team that extra game. Simple and logical.
There should be no testing of the players. They are all healthy 18-20 year old 1% athletes. There’s no reason to think they are at any risk. I’d rather not further ruin this tournament for a few health bureaucrats to be satisfied that they ruined what would’ve ended up being the most satisfying hockey experience of many of these kids careers. Undoubtedly more will get added to the list without good reason.
And if one of these 1% athletes dies because of the virus do you know how much of a stain this would leave? Think before you type. lol
What a frivolous concern you are suggesting. They could die tripping over a bag of chips left on the floor. There are risks in life, and you have to calculate which you are willing to take and not willing to take. The risk to them is miniscule from this.
In the decade I’ve been on this forum, this is the single most embarrassing thread I’ve seen.

Do tell do tellToo bad you weren’t here in 2007 for the Sens>NHL thread. If you know what happened to Ottawa that year, you’ll know why that thread was so embarrassing.
The article in question mentions that Yves Stoffel is positive and will be leaving. Now also a Swiss WJC-player has tested positive. Swiss Ice Hockey officially informs that the player, and two other, are leaving their camp in Cham/Zug.
Who were those two players in 2005?Strangely, the closest the tournament has ever been to having all available healthy players participating was 2006. Even though there was no lockout, Crosby was the only player who wasn't available. During the 1995, 2005, 2013 lockouts there were still two players not there due to the NHL in each year.

So THAT"s what to blame!!!! I knew it couldn't be ME !!!!
I don't understand why people think this won't go on. A couple players catching covid is nothing. Does no one remember the nhl training camps? Bubble ended up being fine.
Another "no news is good news" day. Nice.
Which bubble? Not true, Swiss had a positive test and 3 players exit the bubble this morning
