Like I said before, the kids are far safer in the bubble than out.

Honestly it's really not that bad. The Swedish situation is irrelvant because they will be allowed to play/practice prior to the start, and no players were "infected". Feel for the Germans, but doesn't sound like those players will be excluded from playing at this point.

Sounds like they will be released into the bubble for December 21. That gives them the 21st, 22nd, and 23rd, to practice and play some exhibition games. Schedule might have to be tweaked, but once the tournament gets started no one will remember this crap. From what I'm reading, those German players will be allowed to play. Their biggest blow already occured when Seider opted out, and Reichel was prevented from playing by a "virus" he probably wouldn't have even known he had without one of these faulty-tests that everyone bows down to.

Eh maybe. 9 of the 10 teams look to be in the clear anyways(Sweden with no players positive). All the players have been isolating on their own since getting to Canada so the spread shouldn't be that bad.

Team Sweden still was on a plane with Team Russia and Team Finland, i don't see how cases wouldn't start flaring up really soon cocidering there were corona infected players on that plane.

Any idea where the Germans could have caught it? My understanding was that the teams were in a bubble back home where they got tested several times before traveling to Canada. How did they travel? I know the Russians, Finns and Swedes took one plane and Czechs, Austrians and Slovaks another one. I guess it would be worse if it were players from one of these two planes especially since they had to do a lot of waiting around at the airport due to the whole luggage fiasco.

There weren't covid infected players on that plane as far as we know. It is two staff(not coaches) from Sweden that tested positive. I guess you could say the teams that flew in with Germany could be at risk but we will see in the coming days I guess.

I just don't understand how they didn't bother to put in enough effort to protect their players and staff, it's quite embarrassing.

I want to watch hockey more than anyone trust me. But if more cases pop up f*** this tournament. I actually tested positive for COV-19 this morning and I am sick as f***, it really sucks. My girlfriend is also sick and was crying all morning in pain.

The point where it becomes not a best vs best tournament it should be canceled that's the whole point of this tournament.

lol. Yeah those 18 days locked in their hotel rooms really made for an "insanely long camp". We just restarted camp due to our own positive tests. 3 practices and 2 exhibition games planned. It'll be the same situation as everyone else.

You also haven't mentioned that other countries were playing the whole year while most of Canada wasn't. Or that Canada's camp was massively affected by its own Covid lockdown that had the players confined to their rooms for two weeks. Their Call Of Duty game should be in peak form, but the hockey part is going to be a bit of a rust fest at the beginning.

Don't count on it, lol. Some people just love to be cynical. When you have that little faith in your own team though I guess the response is to try to tear down the legit competition.
