WJC 20/21 should be cancelled

  • Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. As this tournament looks poised to kick into full gear it is that much more annoying that the Leafs, Rangers and Devils still decided to hold out their players. The much talked about Jan 13th start date doesn't look like it has a hope in hell of being reality. Is what it is I suppose all the teams are still extremely strong and will be awesome hockey.

Good point.

Having said that, the teams can't take all the blame. I'm sure if the players pushed, they would have been allowed to go to the WJR's.

So quarantine doesnt allow them to practice till essentially the start of the tournament.

This tournament is turning into a joke with a huge Asterix next to the winner.

It was only a matter of time and this won’t look good on Alberta government (Alberta government hasn’t looked good for a while now anyways) if it gets out of control! letting sick people into the country for a non-essential event! I want hockey but c’mon the world juniors could have been postponed they just want to rush it to fall in the traditional holiday dates!

They have to quarantine and then I’m guessing have multiple negative test results before even getting let out of isolation

As long as the "winner" is Canada, you can add all the asterixis you want.
 
Playing against Canada in the WJC when it takes place in Canada is already difficult enough.

Now some of these teams because of quarantine are essentially throwing a team on the ice with no practice, and some missing their best players and hoping for the best.
 
The people that seemingly don't want this to happen confuse me lol do you prefer not watching hockey or something? There is no perfect in a world with covid....so forget about perfect and everyone can enjoy an actual hockey tournament and whoever wins...earned the win. It isn't the end of the world.

They aren't happy and they don't want other people to be happy, either.
