WJC 20/21 should be cancelled

Since you asked, I complied a list in 2005 of the no-shows at this tournament from 1982 until then. They only included junior-age players who were missing because they were already in the NHL. They did not include injured players or those who simply weren't picked by their countries. Canada led with 133 missing players. Next was the US with 21 and Russia 10. Sweden had 1.

Canada was missing 13 players in 1984.

The list is searchable here. Somebody (can't remember who) updated it a couple of years ago to include more recent years and any omissions I might have made.

At this point just cancel the tournament. The hockey wont be played on even premises.

Haha crap tournament this year. Swedes got half a team. Team manager and head coach gone.

No, not unfair but this got swoosh over yr head. Swedes not have team manager or coach. And 3 lines. If they win this there is a amazing. New team manager is a pod caster.
 
Dont get why the tournament is still on. Embarrassing. Swedes got half a team no crowd and mire going to get sick. Totally boring this year.

Swedes did not came prepared. If they lose, they lost it before the tournament even started. If they win a game, they can celebrate.

All the other teams had similar constraints and managed. Not everyone else's fault Sweden mishandled the virus and couldn't figure out how to ensure their best players would be able to play. It's a pity there's no relegation this year or I'd suggest they can just forfeit all their games and enjoy the next year in division 1A if they don't want to participate.

As far as I can tell none of the banned players or coaches are ill. Several have never been ill and might have gotten false positives. One of the leader staff got banned because he left the "bubble" the fetch forgotten luggage at the airport .

Very few will get infected, and noone will die from this tournament.

90% that die is old and weak. Old people in Sweden (like old enough to not be able to care for themselves anymore), is either in a caretaking home or get assistance from some caretaking service. In both cases the personnel is changed as often as underwear. No wonder that they get sick and die under those circumstances.

Thier suffering has 0% to do with hockey.

The guy that left the bubble their is quite literally zero excusing. Was he confused what entering a Covid bubble meant or something? I don't really care what he forgot I am sure he could have talked to someone on the phone and had it delivered to the hotel. The Swedes are dealing with Covid how they want to deal with it. Great all the power to you. If you want to come to an international tournament in another country you have to play by their Covid rules. Seems to have been a difficult task for some...but interestingly not others.

Whats embarrassing is how Team Sweden handled their things with Corona being the way it is. Don't like it well too bad.

It's not like the rules changed. I'm sure everyone knew and I'm sure everyone was given plenty of time to get it right.
 
Is there a posted game schedule yet? Love to watch the exhibition games!!! 100% playing this tourney is great!
