Looks like we can now add “air travel logistics” to the list of things one can learn by a being an HFBoards member!

Yes, yes we have

The Swiss/German plane has left Iceland, Czech/Slovak/Austrian plane just landing in Iceland. American plane leaving from Detroit for Edmonton around 5 ET.

I know this is weird, but I work in the industry so I've use these flight tracking apps daily for work so it's easy to find.

Jesus, that plane looks like a Covid petri dish. Hope everyone was tested a million times before getting on that thing.

Perfect example of why COVID is persisting globally despite masks and restrictions. Singing...sigh...

Honestly given the importance placed on social distancing I’m shocked they chartered what looks to be 737/A320 type, I’m sure cost was involved but you would have easily been able to have (maybe all) teams in a socially spaced manner on an A330 or larger Boeing type

Canadian poster wants to win gold on that other teams are disqualified. Would not surprise me since Canada always wants to win even though it is unfair.

Definitely not as much interest in this world juniors as before. Not even close.

Shouldn’t be cancelled but being the home nation has maybe the biggest advantage in recent memory by a substantial margin for Canada.

Canada is the only team not flying in. USA is the only team flying in alone and not with another team. Clearly this is a conspiracy for Canada and against Europe, but specifically Sweden.

It should be cancelled if they’re going to have stupid rules. There’s no reason to make player ineligible for a false positive test.
Canceling the tournament because some players have been held out by a weird rule would be making a weirder rule to hold all the players. Give that one a hard think.

Without knowing the precise logistics, I’m imagining that it’s more like they showed up with too much luggage not knowing better and the air crew told them it was too much, not that they were able to taxi all the way to the runway, try to take off, and fail.

I like to think it happened in a similar manner to the end of this clip

First, I do want this tournament to come together and be successful.

But boy oh boy, those plane fiascos ... I’ve no words.

Alberta is in Covid hell right now and I’d imagine that someone from the tournament organizing committee will soon receive a not so nice call from the provincial health officials about those planes.

Here’s hoping everything works out.

I don't want to have anything to do with a tournament where my country has an advantage - imagined or otherwise so I'm in...

If you don't watch, Breakers, I won't watch !!!!!! :5:

I heard Hockey Canada was so scared of the 2019 U.S. draft class that they asked the plane's pilots to compare the amount of coughing, and the plane with the MOST coughing was suppose to pick up the U.S. team in Michigan.

Unfortunately, the Americans foiled our plan by flying to Edmonton on their own - they're always one step ahead of us.:mad::mad:
