I haven't seen anyone say anything about their metrics this year being unsustainable. Their shooting percentage as a team is 10.7% which is completely within a normal range.

look back a few pages there is 1 fan claiming that we can regress in defense and offense
 
That's a thing about this team, normally I'm very cautious about things. Even last year when the Jets were rolling, I wasn't sold on them because their underlying metrics were just a smoke screen. There was two weeks in the middle of January where I finally decided to buy into the team, only for them to fall off.

I see none of that in this iteration. They are playing an incredible brand of hockey, and it's sustainable. All they need to do is fix their special teams.

Okay, that's enough of everybody waxing about the Jets. Please go back to underrating and ignoring us.

if our special teams were good we would have a 10 point gap on the rest of the league lol

I've been a Jet fan since 1972.
I've lived in Edmonton since 1980 but always a Jet fan.
I watch every single Jet game since they returned to the league. The way the Jets ended the season last year I was seriously thinking to not renewing my NHL TV package because I thought they were a PO bubble team at best. Then the PLD trade happened and I loved the return that Chevy got for PLD but it was not enough for me to be a believer in this team. 2 days before the season started I had not renewed my NHL subscription of 11 years. Then Chevy resigned Scheifele and Hellebuych long term and removing all the doubt about what happens to them for this season. I couldn't help myself, I resigned for another season of Jets pain. While I thought that the Scheif/Helle deal would make the Jets a PO team I still expected them to be a wildcard team at best. I never expected to see this team. So to get back to the bandwagon, I was always on it, I just never thought that this team that I cheered for over 50 years could be doing what they are presently doing. I never dreamed they could be this good. History keeps me from going all in. I am still waiting for the eventual losing streak.

Wagon is a new term that the best I can figure means really great team.

You must be new to jinxes. Historically speaking, most jinxes take in effect 3 months after the thread, which is why pre playoff threads are frowned upon

I have no idea why some people forget that the goaltender is a part of the team, and having strong goaltending is every bit a valid strategy to build a team around as strong defence or strong centres. In fact, there are teams that are stacked at other positions that learn every season (sometimes many seasons in a row) that having a guy like helle back there would probably be a good idea

Teams with shit goalies always seem to dock teams with great goaltending. I had to laugh at the post you replied to. oilers fans have 1 trying to discredit the nucks all year based on nerd created algorithm's and the first post I read in this thread has one using the he same bull-shit for the the jets.

All I know is as someone born in Winnipeg but raised in White Rock, I'm loving the fact they are 1-2 in the west and have the 2 best goal differentials, wins, regulation wins etc. you know the actual important stats.

Even more important thing this season for the jets was not only getting rid of PLD but crushing the trade as well as having pending UFA's commiting to Winnipeg after other fan-bases constantly shitting on the city. Winnipeg may never have the cache of Vancouver but it speaks volumes that players that end up on the jets are choosing to stay.
