I mean AHL in general. There are better cameras in USHL arenas, CHL arenas, SHL/Allsvenskan arenas, DEL arenas, NL arenas, KHL arenas, Liiga arenas...

The AHL just sucks at business. They need to get some new f***ing cameras and real play by play announcers so I don't have to listen to the radio broadcast while watching Iphone 4 level camera footage on AHL TV. It's a joke for the cost.
Oh absolutely. I can basically watch tier 5 swedish hockey with better broadcast quality than AHL.

Mazur was an overager. He was playing in the USHL in what would have been his +1 season and had less pts in the USHL than what James had in his draft season.
Mazur is one year older, so I compare his last season numbers 38 points in 41 games to current James numbers

James had good production in the USHL and AJHL prior to this year. Give him some time to try to figure it out at the NCAA level.

Genuinely hate the NCAA route. I know we’ve had a few guys develop into NHL’ers from that system, but there’s something about it I just don’t like.

Article about James.

"He's playing with confidence," UND coach Brad Berry said. "We all know he has NHL elite speed, right? At the end of the day, as a freshman coming in here, sometimes, it's a little overwhelming just getting acclimated to the game, knowing how much time you have when you have the puck on your tape. Sometimes, the game overwhelms a young guy a little bit, because it's so tight-checking in our league.

"But now he knows when to chip a puck. He knows when to hang onto a puck. Man, he's a threat off the rush going around defenders. Now he's starting to play with confidence."

No shit. Nothing but bums from that 2nd rate development system Like Dylan Larkin, Adam Fox, Tage Thompson, Kyle Connor, etc.

Smarm aside, I'm just here to call you out as to 1) why you hate the NCAA route, which has produced some premium players and, 2) how Dylan James would been so much better off playing elsewhere (I'm assuming you're a CHL slappy).

I don't have the stats on hand, but I'm pretty sure NoDak rates pretty well with any development team in terms of the number of NHL players they've produced.

For a freshman his numbers are not good?
No, they are pretty bad for a high second round pick. You’d like him, ideally, to be close to a point a game. Plus, he was old for his grade so he was an older freshman. The underlying data hasn’t been good either from the data I’ve seen from people who tracked his games ( zone entries, zone exits, etc.). This was also an issue pre-draft too. Mazur and LombardI look amazing, on the other hand.
