It sucks that it seems we have less depth at the forward spot than in previous years. Guys like Gauthier/Barron have not taken the next step. In fact it's pretty clear Gauthier is just a body out there.
Hunt belongs on the 4th line. Mckegg even with all his effort belongs in Hartford or anywhere.

I would move Bread up to the first line with Zib. And then the rest of the lines shake out depending on who is healthy. Your centers are Zib, Chytil, Barron, Goodrow and Rooney. We'll figure it out.

Sure, just an important point of context to include the fact that they've played 3 more games than us when mentioning they're only 2 points back. It matters if we're brining up the standings, the same way many people were always pointing out Carolina having games in hand on us when we had gotten close or passed them a few times.

Their next game is against us, so it will be 2 games in hand at that point and if they lose to them we'll be in a catch up situation. This team is wildcard bound.

Panarin had a good game I thought. I mean compared to his body of work this season.
Strome and Goodrow are dead weight for him to carry at this point.
Goodrow has less offensive upside than any of the other grinders Panarin and Strome have played with it seems
Glad we can all rest assured moving on from Strome is the right call. The dude has gone missing this calendar year so far it feels like. Imagine 6 years of this...

Agree and we will have a really tough first round matchup that we will very little shot to win. Decisions being made now about the roster and the salary cap should focus on next year. Love what i saw from Laf tonight.

It's not that he can't win a spot over McKegg, it's that the dumb coach thinks playing McKegg is a better idea.

The idea of him playing in the top six speaks to the state of this roster and the fact that we are not ready for prime time even with an all world goalie. He is a liability on a line you need to score.

Me too, unfortunately the dummy behind the bench thought Kevin Rooney deserved to be played in OT over him.

So, you're dismissing the idea that GG has his pets and favors vets over kids until he is forced to use them? I would say Nemeth and Tinordi further cement this argument.

I don’t know how you can say that about Barron. He’s been good in the minimal time he’s been given.
Gallant is just loyal to some of the vets that’s it’s a detriment to the line up at times.
We’re also without Kakko/Blais and Kravtsov left in camp

I don't know how any of us can judge Barron other than thru GG's eyes? He can't crack the lineup over Mckegg? Like one game? how many consecutive games has Mckegg played now? We can see he is not an NHL player. How can Barron not bring more than him?
Just a bummer we literally have no contribution from the minors on either our 3rd or 4th line right now.

Maybe. But while I didn't see the first two, Igor didn't steal this one, Greiss did. Igor didn't play poorly but he didn't have to steal it.

Yeah ive got no issue with Goodrow's overall body of work. He's been a net positive for sure, but he is extremely miscast in the top 6. The best situation for him and the Rangers is to add a couple forwards and get Kakko back healthy, so we can run a Rooney-Goodrow-reaves 4th during playoff time.

It's not about skill or ability for GG; it's about trust and for some ridiculous reason he trusts peg leg Mckegg.

He definitely does but so do most coaches in the NHL. Just playing devils advocate here. I want guys like Pajuniemi and Barron to get a chance right now but obviously the coach and his staff think they are not good enough.
