McKegg had the puck on his stick a ridiculous amount tonight, which isnt a good thing. Watching him try to do anything skillfully or quickly is going to give me an ulcer. Get Barron in, the McKegg experiment has been over for weeks now

mind baffling to me. It really is. Like I said before, he finally put Jones in..... so I hope it’s only a matter of time before he does the same with Barron/mckegg

It sucks that it seems we have less depth at the forward spot than in previous years. Guys like Gauthier/Barron have not taken the next step. In fact it's pretty clear Gauthier is just a body out there.
Hunt belongs on the 4th line. Mckegg even with all his effort belongs in Hartford or anywhere.

I just have a major problem watching a game like that and knowing that my eyes told me that was arguably Laf’s best game as a Ranger and he doesn’t get an OT shift, Rooney does.

This X1000. One of only a few times I've felt Lafreniere deserved more time, but he didn't get it. Rooney and Chytil was the pairing instead.

I mean it. Gallant has no idea how to coach the 3v3. It's evident as all hell when you watch other teams and decision making with the puck they make to keep possession until there's a chance from without close range with open net.
I feel like it’s mostly the players. Far too often they wanna take things slow and make perfect passes when the best strategy in OT is ti just constantly push the pace. You constantly push the pace and use the open ice and use your speed and space to discombobulate the defense.

We almost never do that. We have this problem at evens too. Delaying and allowing the other team recover far far too often. Really only when the other team does it is the only time we attempt it, we need to start pushing the pace as 3 on 3 strategy.

Anyone still think we need to sign Ryan f***in Strome. He's a passenger at best. Misses open net after open net. A losing player that we should simply dump for a pick; any pick.

I don’t know how you can say that about Barron. He’s been good in the minimal time he’s been given.
Gallant is just loyal to some of the vets that’s it’s a detriment to the line up at times.
We’re also without Kakko/Blais and Kravtsov left in camp

Thats because Kravs went to Russia, Blais is out for the year and Kakko is out for a while too. Thats 3 RW's missing and it's hard to plug guys in and expect them to play like top 6 guys. We will add some forward depth at TDL and get Kakko back so guys like McKegg and Gauthier won't be playing.

And who is going to play 2nd line center with Panarin? I would rather let the year play out and them let him walk in the off season.

Still gotta win those games. Tough to do that when Greg McKegg is playing more than the third line center on the team and the team can't even score an OT goal.
Sure, just an important point of context to include the fact that they've played 3 more games than us when mentioning they're only 2 points back. It matters if we're brining up the standings, the same way many people were always pointing out Carolina having games in hand on us when we had gotten close or passed them a few times.

Honestly, I don't care that much that we lost, we got a point. I just can't handle losing because a professional player not only missed an empty net but did so in a shootout with the goalie out of position. This was easier than a layup.
