There is a lot to like about Dionicio. He has good size and his frame is solidly built. He uses that size and bulk to play a physical game. And when he hits, he hits to hurt – not in the literal sense, but he hits very hard. And he uses that physical stature in his competitiveness when it comes to the board battles and in front of his goaltender. He just will not give up.

Dionicio can lead the attack from transition, he handles the puck extremely well, he sees the ice well and he can make plays. He is willing to jump up in the attack and can pace himself to be the late man. In short, you have to be intrigued by the offensive potential. He has the skill set, the IQ and the willingness. But something is lacking.

Dionicio lacks speed. He’s not bad once he gets going, but his first steps are in need of some improvement, He has the strength in his legs, so maybe just fine tuning his technique will get him there. It will only help develop all the offensive instincts he already possesses.
He’s a liability.

I was just told something similar, though I'm not sold on it by any stretch yet. IF it happens and the other body is Hache, then it might sting less. Frankly, Im still leaning NIA; have heard that from multiple directions.

Wow. What's the draft cupboard look like to pull that off? I haven't seen an update since the trades the other day but thought the usual required 2nd round picks were thin for that type of headliner.

Ride maybe separate deal to Niagara???

No he not just takes bad penalties that lead to suspension but when he on the ice he is good.
I'm pretty sure a defenceman who doesn't care for the health of his opponents will do just fine in this town. He is replacing a guy who would be a healthy scratch for a house league team.

Prefer the Niagara deal to be honest. The offense is already elite. Miedema could be traded next year for a huge return in assets.

Wright and Hache would make this team formidable Not sure we have the assets.

Word was they were looking to strengthen this year and next. The Nia deal does that, the Kin deal doesn’t.

Just throwing this out there for discussion...

Wright
Hache
Ldn 3rd 2024

for

Miedema
O'Flaherty
SSM 3rd 2023
Flint 6th 2023
NIA 4th 2024
Wsr 2nd 2027
Wsr 2nd 2028

That MIGHT be justifiable... maybe. I'd still rather have the NIA one, though.

So if you get Wright is the Niagara deal off the table.

IF Windsor gets Wright, it'd 100% depend on what the return is.

Example - if it's Wright for Miedema + O'F + picks, then Windsor could still deal Ride + picks for Dionicio.

However, if it's Wright + Hache + ?? for Miedema + O'F + picks, then, yes, NIA is not happening.

The NIA stuff has been talked about for the last 24hours and I was 95% certain it was happening. This Wright talk, though, has perked my ears a bit. I don't expect it but I can't dismiss it.

that is not even close to being enough if u base it off of what trades have been going already.

Would the 2028 pick be considered 5 years out? I thought they can only go 4 years out.
